I'm very disappointed in this unit. I wanted a speaker that I could listen to podcasts on while showering and it's not even loud enough to be heard over the shower. Rugged design though, I'll give them a star for that. Not worth the price at all. AND I got it for $50 off the regular price! SUPPOSEDLY.

This Bluetooth speaker is excellent at things very easily if plays loudly and my teenage daughter loves it

Bought one a year before for my oldest daughter and she loved it, so bought one for my youngest!!

Not what I expected for the cost of this. Sound is distorted at higher volume.

The sound quality was poor in the shop atmosphere and then after fully charged (the speaker only last 2.5hrs.

Good quality item, just doesn't go very loud. It is a speaker that needs to be with you when listening. No playing it in one room and listening in the next.

Happened to test some of the Bluetooth speakers on display at the store to compare sound quality of the compact units, I currently own the Bose Soundlink mini II and knew what that sounded like as a baseline. After testing some of the various units I kept coming back to this speaker. Oddly enough when I compared the sound quality of the BRV-1 to the much more exspensive Bose Soundlink mini I couldn't find much difference, in fact the BRV-1 has slightly better mid -range clarity. I can't speak much on the longterm life of the BRV-1 but being that its a "ruggedized" unit I can't help but expect to get good life out of the unit. Overall I am very satisfied with my purchase and as someone who uses the Bose everyday I can say if your on a budget and want a great bluetooth speaker that sounds as good as if not slightly better (mid-range wise) you can't go wrong with this unit.

I know how to connect speakers, and this one just wouldn't connect to anything, so I brought it back.

I got this speaker as a gift and it is cool and simple to use. It's about the size of my palm, and comes with a auxiliary cord in case you don't want to sync your phone with the Bluetooth capability. Behind the speaker there's a twist off cap like the lid of a jar that hides the AUX port, and USB port (so that you can utilize the speaker as a portable charger), and the power level LED lights with a button so that you can see the levels of battery. I've used this while working out in the yard, at the lake, on a river float and at my desk at work. This small speaker could use more bass but that's a compromise I'm willing to forgive because I have other Bluetooth speakers that have the bass I need. I wanted something compact, and easy to use where I could toss it in a bag and with a push button start. It works just as imagined, once it's synced with Bluetooth I hit the power button and I can control the volume of the music from the speaker which has been a downfall in the past with waterproof speakers from other brands. A good little purchase if you want something that's loud for outdoor sports and within a good price point. The one downfall for me is that when the volume is low it's hard to hear the music playing and the jump from low to just a little higher in volume is awkward so I have to adjust the volume on the device I'm streaming music from but otherwise a thumbs up!

Cool little speaker,but if you're looking for big sounds and bass, this is not the speaker for you.

I expected to be able to hear this bluetooth speaker from a distance. i didnt want to have to sit 3 ft in front of it to hear the music as I can do that with my phone. I wanted to be able to be outside gardening or entertaining and hear my music 15-20ft away. Maybe I was asking for too much.

This speaker is okay for the money... kind of low sounding....
