I love this show!!! Mostly because it reveals the human side of us all---the once authentic protagonist acting only on behalf of his family, becomes the antagonist acting on behalf of his medical diagnosis and his own missed opportunites. Yet, he still behaves as if to procure for his family a legacy that will sustain his family in his absence. And that is where his motivation changes. Knowing he has already provided monetary susbstinance for his family to employ after his demise, he becomes Heisenberg, becomes enraptured with his past failings---i.e. college days---and then seeks to retribute and reclaim what his life was supposed to be about. He siezes the opportunity to become what he believes he was destined to become: A talented visonary destined to change the world--and become rich, thus safe. Mr. White, the ordinary, struggling, honest high-school professor, seizes the opportunity to gain cash, alot of cash, to beset his previous acknowlegement of financial failure, despite his academic and intellectual prowess---because he knows, as all of our society knows---that security is based on monetary acheivements--not scholary ones. Sad. Sad that this falecsy is true---in our culture we verbally promote the learnings and study of chemistry, mathematics, sociology, and art, but---none of us in the business of business will ever acknowlege these proficiencies of knowledge unless we can find a way to make a buck of it. Hence, it is totally natural that Mr. White became Heisenburg. Mr. White became a murderer, a liar, a cheat, a monster... not because he was one to begin with, but became one because he desired the American dream: Recognized for his intellect, knowledge, and his love for his family. Walter White is a profile of us all. He is not the villian so much as he is the villian in all of us who dare to venture beyond the barriers that prevent us all from becoming what we were promised, and were lied to about: Recognition for our efforts, security for our family, and acknowlegment of the work we displayed our entire lives. This show is extraordinary in revealing this. And I beleive this is why so many of us tout its excellence---not because it is purley great writing, great acting, or great profiling (which it is all of these things) but because it strikes a cord in every American human being that what we we told, what we were promoted to become, is not what is truly wanted, admired, or desired: Money and power. Sad but true.

Epic End to an Epic Drama TV Series

I got into watching Breaking Bad a few years back on Netflix because I kind of heard that it was a pretty good show to check out. What an understatement. After binge-watching 5 episodes to see if it was really any good (I never can watch TV that long), I had to get my boyfriend to watch it with me. At first, he was kind of watching while browsing on his laptop, then a couple episodes in, he was paying more attention, and pretty soon, IT WAS ALL WE WATCHED! So intense, couldn't stop! Stayed up til 3am! I always loved the fact that every character who ever appeared, no matter how minor, was actually significant and memorable. Almost everything became iconic, sounds, objects, scenes, locations, quotations. The final episodes never lost that momentum. After watching the second to last episode, and seeing that epic tie-back to the first season, we couldn't stop theorizing what was going to happen. That was the longest week ever til the series finale. Even though so many TV series can be streamed now, I had to get these blu-rays to be part of my permanent collection. If you are considering getting Breaking Bad, I recommend waiting til around Black Friday after Thanksgiving. Many places, including Best Buy, seem to offer them on sale for an insanely great price.

Home Stretch for Television's Greatest Series

How do you top an unsurpassed season 4? A shift in the narrative to keep you tuned in and intrigued. This is actually part 1 of the 2-part final season and it's still difficult to see where this is all headed, although you know it won't end well for some of the characters. As the cover caption tells us, Heisenberg is now the man. Surprisingly, Jesse has become the show's true moral compass. Oh, the twists and turns! Get ready for the explosive final 8 episodes! The Blu-ray set is the only way to fully immerse yourself into this outrageous crime story.

    So much tension!

It looks like Walt and Jesse are moving forward. In the background, Mike makes a clever move while tightening up a loose end and bringing himself into the fold. The growning dark rationalizations fed to Skylar are deepening the rift. Can/Should Skylar compartmentalize and find some "middle" ground, as if the word middle even exists in this context? Or, can Walt move to remaining mute and letting her settle matters in her own mind? On both matters, probably not, the rift is driving a significant slice of the drama in this series.

    The Train Stops Here

The final 8 episodes of my favorite television series of all time kicks off with the reveal of the most unbearable wait for a cliffhanger of all time. Your heart will be pounding especially during the episode entitled "Ozymandias." Season 5B wraps up the show in a most unapologetic way that Bad has become known for. Never will be another one like it. What a ride!

Season five, or rather this set of eight episodes, sets up the finale of one of the greatest television series. From the opening episode dealing with the fallout from season four's finale to the cliffhanger ending in episode eight, Breaking Bad season five will keep you hooked, and the disc set will let you watch your favorite moments over and over again.

    WARNING: NOT 16 EPISODES

Greetings all. Be forewarned that this season is actually only the last 8 episodes of the series. Best Buy's "Fifth Season" plus "The Final Season" make up the show's last 16 episodes. Besides that Breaking Bad is amazing.

There is no doubt that Breaking Bad will go down in TV history as one of the greatest shows ever made. The cast was superbly cast and every episode is extremely well written. The Final Season wraps up all of the major story lines but still manages to shock and surprise the viewer. Worth adding to any serious TV lover's library.

This is the first half (8 episodes) of the final season of Breaking Bad. What's really left to say about this show that hasn't already been said a thousand times? Don't start watching the show here if you haven't seen it yet, start at the very beginning with season 1 and you'll be hooked.

This is one of the best shows of all time. It never went downhill like Mad Men, Dexter, etc. I've never heard of someone who didn't get hooked when they gave it a shot. This will be the only series I only every Blu-ray for, and we'll see how Game of Thrones turns out in future seasons.

This show is awesome and it was sad knowing that this was the first half (8 episodes) of the final season. Breaking Bad is as addictive as the Blue Meth they cook. The scenery looks great on Bluray and the acting and writing is superb! No surprise it won an Emmy for Outstanding Drama!

Season Five finds Walter White without an employer as he plans to become a kingpin and run his own empire. Dark, exciting and always unpredictable, BREAKING BAD is, without a doubt, the best television series ever!
