Well, I have not written a review in a long time but I wanted to take the opportunity to write it this time because I am loving the Breville Barista Express:
- Yes, it was a learning curve to understand the different variables to get an excellent Espresso, but once you learn how to do it, every cup of coffee is perfect!
- This Machine is NOT for Coffee consumers that do not appreciate a good cup of coffee or if you are not willing to put the time on it. Meaning that it really is an art.
- It took me around 2 weeks to get it right and understand the “Pressure”, “Tapping”, Coffee Grinding, etc… But today I love the process.
I highly recommend this Espresso Machine, coffee is delicicious and the process, once you get it down, is simple.
Hope this helps at least one person. = )

I love this expresso machine. It produces an excellent tasting expresso. The correct pressure of the extraction can be controlled by how fine the bean grind, and also how hard I pack the ground beans. In other words, I am able to make the perfect expresso.
The frother works very well also.
This is my second purchase of this model. The first one lasted about 5 years until the pump began to fail. But that was after thousands of expressos...
This is not a fully automatic machine in that you have to pack and then discard the puck. But I prefer it that way as I have much more control and can generally make a stronger expresso than with a fully automatic machine.
Also this machine is vary attrctive on the countertop.

I bought this Brevelle Expresso machine back in June. Tgis is the best coffee maker tgat I have ever owned. It makes the perfect cup of coffee every time. Once you get your ground size and amount down . It grounds the coffee perfectly and the milk frother is Awsom as well. Couldn't ask for a better Expresso machine. It you are on the fence about getting one go for it you will not be disappointed. Go get you one!!!

I recently bought the Breville Barista Express Espresso Machine, and it has completely transformed my morning routine. The integrated grinder is a lifesaver, giving me the freshest grounds for a robust flavor every time. With 15 bars of pressure, every espresso shot is perfectly extracted, rich and creamy.
The milk frother? Just wow! It whips up silky smooth froth for my lattes and cappuccinos that rivals any coffee shop. If you’re a coffee enthusiast looking to elevate your home barista skills, this machine is a game changer. Highly recommend!

I finally bought this for myself and it is the best investment! I have saved so much money with this breville. Difficult to dial in at first, but once you learn how the different grinders work it makes good espresso. You will need to buy an espresso scale to use this

This coffee machine is amazing and pretty simple to figure out how to use! Love that I can grind my coffee bean to my liking and the flavor is so amazing… I’m not barista but this is soooo helpful for iced coffees and lattes (also when you register you get a free bag of coffee from Breville) and it is a bit spendy but definitely worth it!

Breville Barista Express is a great expresso machine. Watch the videos and read the directions. If you are willing to go thru the required steps to setup and maintain it makes great latte's.

I just got this machine in last week and the first day it took a little getting used to because I had to read the owner manual and figure out the grind of the beans and what not. That being said the machine has been making amazing coffee so far I do have barista experience so for some it may take longer to learn how to use it. This machine makes STRONG espresso but that’s how I like it. Overall set up was not too bad. My only concern is making sure the espresso shots are under the correct amount of pressure. The shots when being pulled should be in the gray zone when pressurized and my shots when they first start pulling it takes a while for the shots to start flowing then the little meter shoots up to the gray zone I think this is normal but I’m still trying to figure out this machine :) it’s so much better than my $100 mr. coffee machine I got back then it Pails in comparison to the breville.

I can make quality espresso and americano drinks at home each morning. Pretty easy to setup and use, comes with quick start card. Really pack down espresso grinds to get full pressure extraction. Should pay for itself after 100 drinks as opposed to going to Starbucks. Great machine, good quality. Went on sale for $115 off, which made me finally pull the trigger.

As an espresso enthusiast, i couldn't be happier with an entry level semi-automatic espresso maker. love the grinder, spectacular design and solid build quality.
it will take some time to get it right, but once you get there, you cant stop making coffee.
be aware that after a while using this machine, you won't be satisfied with coffee that you get from cafes.

So glad I read all the reviews on the web and recommendations for the best "at home" espresso machine. Glad I did because so many sites had this machine on their top 5 or top 10 list. I just made my kitchen so much more enjoyable and pleasing to the eye. Best investment I've made so far.
Unit looks professional/industrial which is a major plus but doesn't take up a huge amount of counter space. This thing is the real deal!
Takes some reading on how to set up the bean grind (course/fine) and amount dial for the actual bean that you're using but after 2 or 3 attempts I had my machine dialed in to the bean that I chose to purchase: Illy italian espresso dark roast (from World Market or Target brick and mortar stores). Again lots of different "high quality" beans to choose from, some purchased online, some from your local retailers (if you're lucky). Again do some reading on the "best" beans for home espresso machine and you'll be set as far as the bean choice.
So then I bought some caramel, pumpkin and chocolate syrups online (Torani and Ghirardelli: same stuff Starbucks uses only cheaper).
Now I can make authentic lattes and mochas at home and no joke, they "rival" the drinks that I've been getting at Starbucks! The key if you read enough reviews online etc. about making espresso at home is the freshness and "roast date" of the beans. The Illy beans that I bought and have been using are way "fresher" than the beans that Starbucks uses which is why I can make a better tasting (fresher) latte' at home.
Buy this unit if you're serious about making "high quality" espresso drinks at home... you will not be disappointed...

Had this item for a year. Finally invested and if you are considering that big espresso maker buy ... It's so worth it. That said, after one year the frother started spitting out of the espresso function and I had to exchange it. Buy the warranty. Otherwise works great!

A great starter machine if you locate the right beans to make the best espresso of your dreams. You might or might want to upgrade your game to include some upgrades to the machine, but overall I have to say you can dial in something to stain your teeth for the next 10 years without missing a day. My favorite is a double shot with Whipped Cream or an Espresso Con Panna as Starbucks calls it. Except I would eat with a spoon. Some great latte's can be had with this machine.

As long as you can learn how to use it well you will have a perfect cup anytime you make your coffee, the frother and cup that it comes with works really well compared to my last espresso machine and the grinder has made my coffee even better with fresh ground espresso. Only real complaint is how often i need to fill the water but thats an easy fix. With a floater valve, an inline filter and using a t valve to split the line from the fridge/dishwasher water to also go to this you no longer have to worry about that, only the regular cleaning. All in all ill never have to buy coffee at a cafe anymore
You won’t return it! Best espresso, half the cost.

Bought this as a graduation present. Used one of these a few times when at my in-laws. I honestly can’t say enough good things about this espresso maker.
It takes a little finesse to get the grinds dialed in for the dose, but this will change a little depending on the beans you use.
Steaming wand works amazingly, makes espresso that is better than Starbucks (they burn their beans), and makes an amazing crema.
Absolutely love this machine, we use it daily!

I'm an at-home barista. Prior to this machine I had a delonghi espresso maker, and various traditional stove tops. I also had a hand pump milk frother and used to buy pre-ground coffee from a local coffee shop.
NOW.... this machine has replaced all of those. The difference in being able to brew the espresso intermediately after grinding is significant. The milk steamer, although it took a bit of practice, can churn out that paint-like milk to be used to in latte art. My tip is to chill the steel frothing jug in the fridge and use whole milk. I created my first latte art this past weekend!
It's ready to go about 30 seconds after you turn it on, which is obviously a better situation than waiting for a stove top. The adjustability in this machine from temperature, to grind size is awesome for honing in on your barista skills.
I highly recommend this machine to any at-home baristas. Breville makes excellent products. We also have one of their juicers and that, too, does not disappoint.
