Works great. The only thing you need to do is find the proper settings for the coffee beans you like to use to get the perfect shot. Stunning double shots through and through. Easy to clean.

Great buy! we use this brand over the last 18 years. works great. Best coffee beans to be used are without any coat on them... because it may clog the grinder. overall phenomenal.

This machine is great. Coffee always tastes wonderful and it’s fairly easy to use. We use this as our secondary only because we are lazy and this one take longer.

It makes a good shot of espresso! I've had many of these, what I call "fancy coffee" machines. I paid more for some, less for others. I used to move often and it seemed every move, my fancy coffee machine would break and start leaking inside (probably due to freezing). Well, now I'm settled permanently (I hope), so here I go again. This machine is still pretty new to me, and although I like the quick convenience of a "pod" type coffee maker, when I can devote a few minutes to crafting a really premium coffee beverage, this machine delivers.
The pros: looks nice, fairly sturdy build quality with lots of metal, heats up pretty quickly, recovers quickly between shots, really nice heavy high quality porta-filter, contains a VERY, VERY nice grinder that is precise and consistent as well as compatible with bean hoppers from Breville's stand alone top-of-the-line grinders, handy inside filter storage and magnetic tamper storage, single and double wall filters supplied, nice ball-jointed frothing wand, but best of all this machine is VERY customizable. Single and double-shot volume is adjustable, grind size and volume have lots of adjustment range (also manual volume control by holding the porta-filter in), brew temperature can be customized over a range of several degrees, and bean hoppers can be unlocked and removed (swapped) with beans still inside. The frother works fine but I usually use a separate induction type frother.
The cons (all very minor): It's a little messy. It spits a little when brewing. To dispense a full dose into the porta-filter at my preferred grind setting (3), there's some spill-over, even if I shake the handle a bit during the grind. I don't think this can be avoided in anything other than a super-automatic machine and I hate cleaning those things. I deal with this by reducing the grind volume by half, tamping it down, then grinding in the other half. The porta-filter comes with a dual-outlet nozzle, but I never brew into two cups. Sometimes I want to brew into a very small cup, but the dual nozzles won't both hit it. If you unscrew and remove the dual nozzle, the porta-filter won't sit flat and level on its own while tamping. This is a minor annoyance. It doesn't have provision for a direct plumbed water supply (I know that's a big ask, but it's what I want).
Overall: I love this machine. When I'm not using it, it sits there looking nice. When I use it, I realize how good coffee can be. I hope it long outlasts its warranty.

The Breville Barista Express Espresso Machine is a well-rounded option for those serious about making high-quality espresso at home. Its combination of features, build quality, and customizable options makes it a strong contender in its price range. However, potential buyers should be prepared for a learning curve and consider the space and noise factors before making a purchase.
Overall, it's a solid investment for coffee enthusiasts who value control and quality in their brewing process.

Absolutely love this espresso machine ! Being able to buy fresh coffee beans and trying different blends at your own liking is a whole different world to coffee. Happy I purchased this unit through best buy because they have the extended warranty options . Very satisfied customer !

We love our Barista Express. Arrives in January 2024 for my wife as a push present. However, this machine comes with a learning curve!!! I would only recommend this machine for coffee lovers that want to expand their horizons with toying with different coffee beans, grind sizes, and types of coffee. It took me about 3 months to really dial in the coffee process on this machine. The first time I used it it took me 6-8 pulls of espresso to get the desired output from the machine. Now that we have found a handful of beans we love and have figured out the process, we absolutely love our machine. I think my wife has been to Starbucks only a handful of times in the year and a half that we've had this machine which was worth it lol.

Excellent! Don't get hung up on bar rating. This espresso maker is the best I've owned. The bar rating is a marketing trick to make lower quality machines apoear better. They are not. This machine makes perfect espressos. I wish I bought thiis first instead of wasting mobey on the three cheaper machines I bought. None of them lasted more than one year.

I love it best thing ever! I’m an old employee for Dutch bros coffee and I will say this little thing has helped me curb going to other places for coffee since I don’t get it free any more. highly recommend :)

This makes some of the best fresh ground coffee. I've had it for a month now and coffee has never tasted better! I like espresso on occasion but use this for coffee mostly. Watch videos on how to use it and that will help you get started fast. If you currently use K-Cups, this will save you money over time as you just use whole coffee beans.

This is my 2nd machine within 2 years. The 1st i bought with warranty. Warranty almost expired when i noticed it was taking longer to warm the milk. Took back to Best Buy and got a full refund and used the refund to buy another. Best Buy customer service at Gilbert, AZ is excellent. This machine seems to have been improved over the last 1. My girlfriend noticed, too. Does a great job grinding the beans, extracting coffee, and frothing milk.

I was going to Starbucks everyweek on my days off! I wouldn't just order for myself but for family as well! Obviously this was getting expensive and It was a hit or miss if with the consistency of the coffee at Starbucks. I purchased a simpler 150$ espresso machine and was very happy but the level of control or ease (especially with the built in grinder) wasn't there. I decided to upgrade to The Barista Express. Honestly this was one of the best purchases I have ever made. I actually enjoy the coffee I make more than I do from Starbucks. Its definitively an investment but you will not regret it. There are some start up cost such as towels and a puck bucket but looks up this product on Amazon and look at the top review to get a good idea of what you will need. The post goes into much more detail. I bought mine from BestBuy because I love their return policy with the warranty you purchase with them.
