Customers are saying
Customers highly value the Barista Pro for its ability to produce very good espresso and its ease of use. The rapid 3-second heat-up time is also appreciated, along with the overall performance and adjustable grinder. While the design and price are seen as positive aspects, some customers find the machine to be rather large.

Good shots HORRIBLE quality product.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love this machine it pulls great shots and is easy to use. It gets 1 star cause I had it for 3 weeks and the steam wand quit working and just blew steam out the drip tray. When you spend so much money on something you don’t want it to break after 20 lattes. I am returning it cause I’m still within the return period.

||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really don't recommend it. You can't monitor the pressure of it. I'm not professional. But I can have a nice latte art by another machine bought from Amazon, but can't do it from this machine. It's good to use but not great as I expected.

a bit expensive but for some will be well worth it
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Let me start by first saying that I actually own both of the individual components that this one unit is taking the place of - both a Breville espresso machine and a separate Breville grinder. I have been quite happy with the 2 of those, so the idea of having both in the same machine made me a bit skeptical. As this is really 2 machines in one, I'll separate out the review into 2 portions as well. espresso maker the good: - Of course, the most import thing here is does it pull a consistently good shot. In my experience with it so far, it does this very well. Good rich flavor with a nice crema. - Speed - Compared to my previous Breville espresso machine, this guy gets up (or down) to temp very quickly, whether it be espresso, hot water, or steam. Significantly faster than what I'm used to. Moving around on the machine, from grind to espresso to steaming milk feels really snappy. - Ease of use and configuration - Intuitive once you get used to it, the LCD screen gives you easy access to configuration options for both espresso and grinder. - Stylish design - brushed stainless steel (and some plastic with the same finish). - Small footprint - All in one in a small space and does it quite well. - Included accessories - Single and double shot filter sizes, stainless steel milk pitcher, portafilter that feels substantial and well made. Also includes single and double wall filters baskets, which is a nice touch. If you're not familiar, single walled baskets give you more control but also a smaller margin of error when pouring your shot. Double walls help keep the pressure consistent, which makes it easier to pull a good shot but also gives you less find control over it. - Large capacity water tank the bad: - Really none. Price could be viewed as a potential negative. grinder the good: - Appears to be the same internal components as the $200 Breville grinder I have, which i love. Conical burr, which is the "good stuff" for grinders. - Good control over the grind size and timing, and visibility through the LCD screen. - Fast and consistent grind size. the bad: - not a ton of capacity for beans. I'm sure this had to be balanced between capacity and appliance height, but a bit more room for bean storage in the hopper would've been nice. - A bit on the loud side, but overall not horrible. overall: Overall I am very happy with this little machine. (I say "little" but it's only little when you consider the full size of the 2 machines it's replacing. It is no way "small".) It consistently makes a really nice shot of espresso and does everything I need it to do much quicker than I'm used to. It's priced a bit on the high side, but in my experience with these espresso machines you really do get what you pay for. Easy 5 stars for me, highly recommended.

Breville Barista Pro
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This coffee machine is a real headache. We encountered many problems even though we used it very little. The heating does not work while making coffee, sometimes it works as it pleases. Although we cleaned and maintained it, we were not satisfied.

Espresso is cold.
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The espresso from this machine is not hot even a its hottest setting. I registered my machine with Breville and emailed them my concern and got nowhere. Even the hot water coming out of this machine is at 170F by my thermometer. I suspect their "new" technology called thermocoil or something like that is not a proven technology and yet they are selling these machines. Supposedly it heats up in 3 minutes or so but it is not. There are reviews similar to me on Breville website.

Biggest Waste of Money I've ever come across
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have never written reviews at all in my life, but when a product has screwed me over this much, I feel like I must explain my frustrations. I have been with Breville for many, many years (10+ years). I have been through 3 of their espresso machines so far but this one has got to be the worst one. It hasn't worked properly since the date of my purchase. It would force me to clean and decalcify every 1-2 weeks, which never occurred on any of the other machines. After some use and being forced to clean and decalcify constantly, which would cost quite a bit with the often “maintenance” that this machine was asking for, I contacted support because it was clogged and wasn't pushing water through any means at all. It wouldn't properly pull shots, it wouldn't normally shoot water out, and it wouldn't even give out any steam either. I shipped this Espresso Machine to Breville’s support because I had a warranty on it, but now I am feeling like they shipped me back a different machine. The one they sent back has many more scratches and residue that was not on my original machine, and a completely different feeling entirely. I know I really can’t prove that this exact machine isn’t mine, but I am more than certain it isn’t. Throughout the whole warranty, there were no inboxes, emails, or paperwork describing their job or what they did, they simply received my machine, and sent me back “the same one.” Even the machine they sent back, it’s still not working at all. It is simply not pushing any espresso through the handle, and I have tested with different beans, different grind sizes, different features, everything. Very-very disappointed with their ability to try to solve this issue, including their incompetence to document any information through the repair process. I would have given it 0 stars if it was possible. This company needs to be better, and people need to know that if this issue happens to them as well, you would be more than disappointed too!
