So-so
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Ok, so I just took delivery yesterday & quickly tested out several features just to be sure this was a keeper. I'm coming from a $700+ OTR LG microwave/convection with sensor cooking & after it died (3rd one in 5 years) I decided to go the countertop route & get a great range hood. This arrived very well packaged & after setting the clock I did a simple test with 2 cups of water (in a 2 cup measuring cup). I tested the temp after 2 minutes on high (been using this for years with thr LG as it heated consistently to 135⁰. The new Breville got to 145⁰ in 2 minutes, a little faster but not quite as much of a difference as I would have thought. Next I tried a filled 4 cup measuring cup to boil water. It took the LG 8-9.5 minutes, depending on how it was feeling that day. The Breville did it in a tad over 7 minutes for a full boil. Not bad but neither products can come close to the short amount of time it takes my induction range to accomplish the same tasks. Next up was 'air fry', something Ive never used & always felt it was just convection heating. Tried 3 frozen breaded chicken patties (for a chicken sandwich). Cooking on air fry, I had no idea how long to cook but the package said 10 minutes. After 10 minutes, including flipping it halfway, it was hot but not crisp. Heated another 5 minutes & it got somewhat crisp on 1 side so I gave up & just flipped them over & used the grill function for 3 minutes to crisp up the other side. My Wolf counter top oven cooks them perfectly in 10 minutes on convection. Next up was mozzarella sticks, again using airfry. I started with 3 minutes, not wanting to risking them exploding in my new micrwave. Still partially frozen. Did 3 minutes more. No longer frozen but floppy, even after turning. I set for 3 more minutes but kept my eye on them & after another minute the cheese started oozing out. Removed the pan but the sticks were still soft & floppy with zero crunch. Next test was a handful of french fries. The Wolf convection takes 15 minutes to cook these, after a roughly 10 minute preheat. After 18 minutes, including turning, these were still floppy in the Breville. Added 5 minutes, still floppy. Finally after another 3 minutes they were crisp. I then heated the oven to the max 450⁰ & tested the temp with an infrared thermometer. My Wolf registers between 435⁰ & 455⁰. The Breville, 335⁰ to 355⁰. So, jury is still out as to whether it gets returned & I look for something better.

Great Combination Micro, Air Fryer, Convection Ove
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We have of course microwaved in this Breville as well as Air Fried and Cooked. Awesome machine and so glad we purchased it. A little pricey, but will make you feel better about the price when you start using it. Don't put anything on top when cooking or air frying for an extended period of time because it does get hot to the touch.

Great combo fryer oven microwave
||Posted . Owned for 7 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This does a great job as an oven, a microwave, and an air fryer. I definitely recommend reading the manual though, as it has a ton of options.

excellent combination microwave+
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had this for a little over a month and it is excellent. I still have to learn all the feature but I have used it as a microwave and an air fryer - in both manual and it’s pre programmed settings. So much more to try. But it’s well made and highly recommended.

Extra cooking modes without needing extra space
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.THE GOOD -Combines multiple cooking devices into one, saves counter and storage space -Lots of worthwhile cooking presets -Nicely guided interface for presets -Soft closing door -Quiet operation THE BAD -Somewhat pricey -The many cooking mode options can be confusing -Documentation is lacking -Backlight ( clock ) doesn't stay on -No kitchen timer feature -Controls split between front panel and inside door -Air fryer won't go below 400 F -External surfaces get hot THE DETAILS The Combi Wave's big selling point is its multiple cooking methods. Aside from just cost, a kitchen appliance's versatility compared against how much counter or cupboard space I give up to store it is a big factor for me. A standalone air fryer is a perfect example: I can't justify buying and storing something that large that has such a limited application and can only cook in small batches. But an air-fryer packed into a microwave that can also operate as a convection oven is rather appealing. The question is, does it still function as well as a standalone microwave, air-fryer, and convection oven? Mostly yes, but not completely. As a microwave, it's, well, a microwave. Instead of an illuminated numeral display and a membrane switch pad you get two knobs, a few hard buttons, and a large orange backlit LCD panel. Some of the control buttons are inside the door frame, making a split control panel, which is odd. I suppose Breville thought putting the less-used buttons there would make the front panel cleaner. The display is great for displaying full menus to navigate the MANY presets for cooking and reheating ( some even mix the multiple cooking modes ). The door uses an interesting quiet close feature, much like an automatic car trunk latch, and actual microwave operation is a few dB softer than my last microwave. The two big feature drawbacks are a lack of a kitchen timer and inability to set the backlight to stay on for a clock mode. Understandably, a large glowing orange panel instead of small green illuminated numbers might be more light than you want at night. As for the air-fryer and convection modes, they work as advertised but are limited by the unit's size. The Combi Wave is much smaller than a regular convection oven so you can't cook near as much food. It's great for reheating leftovers or baking a small pan of brownies, but you won't want it for a large batch of cookies or a casserole. Also, it's not an air-fryer in a strict sense. Instead of heated air being blown through a mesh basket, the Combi Wave uses a heating element up top with the included fry tray to make a quasi grill with circulated air, though it works well. Unfortunately you can't set the temperature lower than 400 F in air-fryer mode. The active heating elements also means the exterior surfaces get warm. The manual recommends 8 inches of clearance on the top and two sides ( most important on the left side for the air vent ). The manual also does a great job of explaining the different cooking modes and presets available, but isn't great at explaining how best to use them or the included cooking tray and trivet. All in all, it's a good microwave that includes some nice extra features for the cost that you may not have access to otherwise. While on the pricey side for a microwave itself, it's much cheaper than a dedicated convection oven and much more versatile than a standalone air-fryer. And it doesn't take up any more space in your kitchen than you'd already use for a microwave alone. The cost makes it more a luxury item than a necessity, but it's one you'll appreciate and use quite a bit. Speaking of the

Excellent and Efficient
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. What a remarkable appliance! We love the soft close door and quieter function. The microwave function, with the inverter, is very efficient. Having the ability to use the unit as an air fryer as well as a convection oven and microwave eliminates the need for other appliances.

Works great.
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great all in one solution. The air fryer is awesome. Heats quickly, looks nice, definitely a good solution for those looking for something more than a microwave. With this you get three core features: microwave, oven, and airfryer. All in all a keeper.
