There was no setting specifically for that and no recommendations in the instructions, leaving one to guess and experiment with the convection setting. I returned it.

I toasted 3 slices of bread. It took five minutes then the fan noise went on for 15 minutes. I had to unplug it to stop it making the noise. I am not happy with it and will return it. I had another Breville oven which worked much better. This one is too gimmicky. I regret spending 10 minutes just to take it out of its huge box.

Now it broke completely, does not warm up. Breville is usually high quality, so I have to give them low marks here, given I now have had a total breakdown. Will try calling support, but it’s 1.5 years old now.

Posted .This is true. Toaster oven surfaces do get very hot. This is why it is mentioned in multiple places in the manual. You will want to make sure to take care not to get burned and avoid possibly touching these surfaces during use.
