    Owned this oven for a little over 2 years, crossing my fingers that the common issue of the fan going out wouldn't happen to us - but I wasn't that lucky. It's all over the reviews here and every other site that carries this product - eventually (maybe a year, maybe 3), the convection fan bearings will fail, and you can't replace it! Trying to even get to the fan will test the limits of the most patient home repairman, and I've given up. I got a quote to fix it for $150 from a pro, but he said with the design for the fan running superheated air around for longer stretches of time, it's only a matter of time before it goes out again. I've been using it without the fan to get by, and am expecting the LCD panel or start button to fail next (those are usually the next to go per all the other reviews). This is SUCH an expensive piece, and there's absolutely no excuse for it to fail within 3 years without any hope of repairability. Breville, did your engineers forget to use components that can handle 450 deg F? You're certainly charging enough to where this shouldn't have been an issue.

    For the most part, I loved this oven. My biggest issue with it was that the bottom elements are poorly placed so everything drips onto them and they are hard to clean. Because of this, I had to be careful with what I air-fryed. However, even with having to be selective with what I cooked, I still really loved the oven. BUT, the fan just stopped working and it hasnt even been a year. When reading reviews for this oven on Best Buy and other places, I noticed that there were reviews saying their ovens didnt last long. I decided that the positive comments outweighed those negative longevity comments and bought one anyway. Mistake!

    I purchased this oven in November of 2021 because of the noted features. The oven also looks great. However, this oven has been a nightmare. After four months, the oven started displaying the dreaded E05 error code. I am on the second replacement oven (after the original one failed) due to this error. The error occurs randomly during a baking cycle. The unit shuts off and must be unplugged and plugged in again to reset the oven. Even after the reset, the error will frequently appear again. I have called Breville customer service who continually tells me that the problem is my electrical wiring in our house. This is a ridiculous answer as an electrician have checked and have found no problem with our wiring. I have tried placing the oven in various rooms of my house on different circuits to no avail. The oven has been replaced twice, but the error still appears. After doing some research online, I discovered that this error is quite common. I now believe that there is an inherent design flaw that appears to impact different batches of manufactured ovens. Some users think is due to a bad “triac” on the internal power board. After several weeks of dealing with this problem, I am fed up. I requested a refund from Breville, but they have refused since it was not purchased on their website. They were only willing to give me a credit for the original price to buy a product on their website. However, I only need a reliable convention oven. This has been a frustrating experience and I warn others about purchasing this oven!

    Toast level 7 does not toast bread: browned toast. The bread will get the texture of toast, but it does not brown/toast the bread. Roasted vegetables will be dried out, and shriveled up. Planning to adjust various recipes temperature, and time settings. It did not cook a 12" pizza to the point of making the dough pizza like. I got this based on friends recommendations as a used every day appliance. At $250 for a toaster, and I am so underwhelmed on every level. Meh A plain toaster would have been better for me.

    Liked my older Breville model; newer one cooks HOT

    I loved our older model Breville but this Smart Oven Pro always cooks hot and I should know by now, it burns the bottoms of cookies, brownies etc. basically anything placed on that bottom rack - the cookies are perfectly baked but burned bottoms! So wish we hadn't sold our older model which worked just fine; just had a spring fall out of one side of the door :-( so we sold it.

    Breville Smart Oven- great at first but died early

    Awesome smart oven when we first bought it, but the convection fan died after two years of ownership and now makes a terrible grinding noise, which started just after the two year warranty window expired. Not repairable since Breville doesn't sell a replacement part for the fan. There are several videos on YouTube and lots of discussion about this exact same problem with the fan on Reddit and other websites. I'd give it five stars if the build quality was better or Breville stood behind the product and repaired it, but unfortunately neither is true.

    well.... worked great Was very happy with it bought 2 years 2 months ago then fan started going out this month. 2 months after warranty stopped FYI uses some amperage so make sure you have a good circuit to hook up to.

    Sad lesson learned

    Purchased this oven about 6 months ago. Worked great until last week when the control display went out. Unfortunately, thinking that Breville products were top quality, I paid cash and misplaced my receipt thinking it would work well past its warranty. NOT SO. As I used it every day, I had to purchase another one! This time I paid with a credit card and kept the all the paperwork. This is a great machine when it works. KEEP ALL OF YOUR PURCHASE PAPERWORK!

    Breville Smart Pro Toaster Oven

    I love this Breville oven but it only last it 3 months because then the door started to get stuck it wouldn’t close and know it doesn’t close and had to return it but know I want another one but is not in stuck.

    Makes burnt toast on the edges at all settings.

    Cons: *I tried three times to make toast. I tried a different setting each time including the "3" light toast setting, "4" middle toast setting and 5 "medium dark" setting. You can see the results in the picture. The first time I followed the manual directions and positioned the untoasted bread in the very center of the rack. That resulted in no browning because one of the heat elements it at the front of the oven and the other heating element is at the back of the oven, so no success! Then, I used common sense, and tried placed the untoasted bread at the front of the oven directly under the heat element using a new setting each time. As you can see in the picture, each time the toast was burnt on the edges of the bread and uncooked or less cooked in the middle of the bread. * Another big problem is that the non-stick oven racks are so slick the toast slides into a new position even when you shut door gently. The oven door has a magnetic catch, that creates the sliding problem. * Another problem is that the exterior of the oven remained extremely hot for more than an hour after I finished toasting. This seems dangerous. I am worried that someone might accidentally touch it and get burned because there is no indicator that the oven is still hot. For the $400 price tag, I would hope Breville could do better!

    Love it until it breaks

    I love it until it stops working. Cannot be without it and that’s why I keep getting another one. I’m on my third one since 2020 and it just broke again tonight. Fortunately this one is still under warranty but I want a product that last and I can depend on. Cooked dinner in it tonight and when the buzzer went off I found raw chicken. Needless to say I’m not satisfied.
