15 Months in & the Convection Fan Stopped Workiing
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Like many other reviews we have read about this oven, the convection fan stopped working with no way to repair or replace after 15 months. The oven still bakes, broils, & toast; however, with out the convection feature you lose the benefit of even cooking. For just under $300 we would expect a much longer life span. We will definitely not be purchasing another Breville product. We would highly recommend NOT purchasing this or any product from Breville.

DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM BREVILLE ... NO CUSTOMER

If you have ANY problems with the unit (minor malfunctions, breakage, etc.), you will be forced to pay more than your unit is worth to ship it to them and back for servicing, (plus the cost/hassle of finding a large shipping box). To the point, Breville does not provide ANY spare parts for purchase. Zero. We requested 4 glass/ceramic heating element covers, (all had shattered during shipping) and Breville's Customer "Support" reps (Michelle and Renee) informed no parts are available and that we must ship the unit for repairs ($100-$150 each way). The other option they gave? A 30% discount off a new unit. Imagine if car companies operated like this? Bottom line, Breville's business model appears to be "use until broken, throw away, and buy another one." Caveat emptor everyone ....

Convection Fan can’t be replaced
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought a Breville convection oven about 5 years ago. One year ago the conv fan started making horrible noises from being gummed up. Turned off the convection feature. Apparently the vaporized food particles have gummed up the bearings in the motor to where it keeps the fan from turning. Breville has engineered the fan so that it’s near impossible to access the bearings for cleaning, or to remove and replace the fan. Breville needs to engineer a much better fan/motor assembly to keep this from happening! Otherwise, the oven worked great for 4 years. Ease of Maintenance is POOR. This is a category that is needed in product reviews.

Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Owned this oven for a little over 2 years, crossing my fingers that the common issue of the fan going out wouldn't happen to us - but I wasn't that lucky. It's all over the reviews here and every other site that carries this product - eventually (maybe a year, maybe 3), the convection fan bearings will fail, and you can't replace it! Trying to even get to the fan will test the limits of the most patient home repairman, and I've given up. I got a quote to fix it for $150 from a pro, but he said with the design for the fan running superheated air around for longer stretches of time, it's only a matter of time before it goes out again. I've been using it without the fan to get by, and am expecting the LCD panel or start button to fail next (those are usually the next to go per all the other reviews). This is SUCH an expensive piece, and there's absolutely no excuse for it to fail within 3 years without any hope of repairability. Breville, did your engineers forget to use components that can handle 450 deg F? You're certainly charging enough to where this shouldn't have been an issue.

My biggest issue with it was that the bottom elements are poorly placed so everything drips onto them and they are hard to clean. Because of this, I had to be careful with what I air-fryed. However, even with having to be selective with what I cooked, I still really loved the oven. BUT, the fan just stopped working and it hasnt even been a year. When reading reviews for this oven on Best Buy and other places, I noticed that there were reviews saying their ovens didnt last long. I decided that the positive comments outweighed those negative longevity comments and bought one anyway. Mistake!

BUYER BEWARE
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this oven in November of 2021 because of the noted features. The oven also looks great. However, this oven has been a nightmare. After four months, the oven started displaying the dreaded E05 error code. I am on the second replacement oven (after the original one failed) due to this error. The error occurs randomly during a baking cycle. The unit shuts off and must be unplugged and plugged in again to reset the oven. Even after the reset, the error will frequently appear again. I have called Breville customer service who continually tells me that the problem is my electrical wiring in our house. This is a ridiculous answer as an electrician have checked and have found no problem with our wiring. I have tried placing the oven in various rooms of my house on different circuits to no avail. The oven has been replaced twice, but the error still appears. After doing some research online, I discovered that this error is quite common. I now believe that there is an inherent design flaw that appears to impact different batches of manufactured ovens. Some users think is due to a bad “triac” on the internal power board. After several weeks of dealing with this problem, I am fed up. I requested a refund from Breville, but they have refused since it was not purchased on their website. They were only willing to give me a credit for the original price to buy a product on their website. However, I only need a reliable convention oven. This has been a frustrating experience and I warn others about purchasing this oven!
