Great Oven with a Short Lifespan

This is our 3rd Breville Smart Convection oven. Unfortunately, the oven's lifetime expires right at two years of age... Electrical failures occur preventing the oven from staying powered on. We purchased this oven (our 3rd) on May 13, 2019 and bought the 2-year Geek Protection plan due to past failure history. (The extended warranty just recently expired May 13, 2021). Today August 7, 2021, the oven power switch is failing, just like the last two units. We're disappointed... again, and so close to our protection plan window closing too.

Disappointing and ineffective

Doesn't toast bread, it desiccates it. The convection seems ineffective. Takes too long to preheat, and the preheat cycle seems to be time-based, not based on what the actual temperature is, so if it's preheating and you turn it off and back on, it will take several more minutes to preheat The rolled metal edges of tray are unfinished, so had to file them down with sandpaper. The wire grate constantly sticks to bread, and I've cleaned it multiple times. Super disappointed

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.My husband and I were looking for a Toaster Oven that would take the place of our toaster and could also be used to cook things like Pizza Rolls or cupcakes and little things like that so we wouldn't have to use the regular oven so we bought the Breville Toaster/Air Oven. It will cook all the things we were hoping for, however, it doesn't cook or toast evenly and that is never a satisfying outcome.

This is our second Breville toaster oven that died just under two years old. We’ve tried unplugging it and plugging it back in- it powers up but the heating filament must be gone.

Excellent all-purpose oven

I love the air fryer. The crumb catcher at the bottom is so easily removed and cleaned, so the oven stays clean looking. I also like all the different levels depending on what I’m making and the reheat feature works really well, not drying out leftovers.
