Tried to watch it multiple times and couldn't do it. Trashy, not what I was hoping for in a comedy.

Wow, what a movie. I went and saw it twice and paid full price. I never do that. So funny! Definitely full of a lot of female humor and mentioning of unmentionable things, not for the faint of heart. St. Louis native bad boy Jon Hamm was a treat to the eyes. Very caddy, but oh so handsome. The Canadian cop played by Chris O'Dowd is so cute! Just love that Irishman! I could watch him over and over again. Very funny guy - as well as the whole gal pal cast characters. The brits were funny too. Makes anyone having a bad day realize how lucky the are that they aren't having the multiple bad days the main character is having. Defnitely gives you some perspective on life. Things could be MUCH worse than the are. Songs in the movie were well chosen and went great with the movie plot. I bought the DVD. This is a keeper.

For everyone whose life has hit rock bottom, or so they thought, we have Annie (played by Kristen Wiig). Working as a jewelry store clerk after suffering a massive business failure and living with two very, to say the least, eccentric fraternal twins despite being chronically late with the rent. Meanwhile, Lillian her best friend (played by Maya Rudolph) is engaged and to a man she’s deeply in love with who makes a great living. And as her beast friend, Lillian enlists Annie to act as her maid of honor at her wedding. It’s at the engagement party where Annie first meets Helen Harris (Rose Byrne). Helen’s husband employs Lillian’s fiancée and has become strangely close to her as a result. The other bridesmaids provide little more than comic relief while Helen, who plans on the order of a Martha Stewart clone on steroids, is the antagonist as she seems intent on usurping Annie’s role as maid of honor and Lillian’s best friend which, given Lillian’s impending change of address, appears to be a position that will be vacant soon enough. During all this, Annie’s romantic life is complicated by a waning entanglement with a man whose interest in her is mainly physical and a relationship with kind and respectful police officer whom she met thanks to a long-broken taillight. The story isn’t all that interesting and the fact that only the audience sees things from Annie’s point if view is near infuriating, in my opinion. That said, Wiig, Rudolph, Byrne and company are hilarious as the events depicted, though some seem meant to make the viewers cringe or test their gag reflex which runs counter to my personal taste. Funny, entertaining, and that’s about it.

hilarious and heartwarming tale for Gen-Xers

Life is full of ups and downs, and this movie perfectly captures the angst of a 30-something woman's experiences as her childhood best friend's wedding looms. Trying to keep cool while living in sleepy Milwaukee and trying to navigate a recent economic meltdown, including the loss of her bakery business AND her boyfriend AND her apartment, she suffers enumerable setbacks and loses her temper at the worst possible moments, regularly embarrassing herself and her best friend. Written with a sarcastic wit and featuring plenty of girl-style gross-out moments, this movie makes you laugh even while sympathizing in agony. Acting is great, and no one character is the "star" - they've all got their special moments, and they're all lovable yet quirky - by the end, you'll feel like they're your best friends. Only thing is, the unrated version isn't all that different than the theatrical release, so you're not getting much more with this DVD than the regular version.

    Hilarious Movie Full of Laughs!

"Bridesmaids" is a hilarious movie about Annie (Kristen Wiig) and her best friend's upcoming wedding. Annie's bakery failed and in the process she lost her savings, boyfriend, and dignity. She ends up taking a job as a clerk at a jewelry store and has two obnoxious roommates living with her. During this painful time in her life, her childhood best friend (Lillian - Maya Rudolph) gets married and asks her to be her maid of honor. Knowing that she is short on funds, Annie tries to take "economic" route for all her duties - but is unable to do so when another one of the bridesmaids (Helen - Rose Byrne) is a wealthy woman that wants everything to be over the top. This causes a rift between Lillian and Annie, which in turn results into a hilarious unfolding of events that cannot be topped!

I expected it to be entertaining, but relieved to laugh from the beginning to end. The characters deliver perfectly! It starts out twisted and hilarious and hit the spot and more on all levels. I rented it but will be buying this week because this is a keeper in my comedy collection I want to enjoy with my friends or when I need a comedy fix!

"Bridesmaids" is a fun comedy. The maine character, Annie, is played by Kristen Wiig. She is a maid of honor who has issues and a messed up life. Kristen Wiig is very funny in the movie. The picture quality looks great. Details are sharp and the colors are vibrant. The sound is also great. There are lots of extras such as deleted scenes, commentary, and a gag reel. The movie is very funny and is good for repeat viewing.

I absolutely love this movie, one of my favorites! I gave this movie as part of a Maid of Honor gift basket, which seemed fitting. She loved it and we watched it. The comedy and the actors are great. Perfect cast for this movie.
