Despite Tom Hanks giving a very good performance, the real scene-stealer in this movie is the Russian spy. This movie is well acted, beautifully filmed, and (unfairly) did not seem to get the recognition it deserved from critics or audiences while in theaters. Definitely worth watching, but maybe not buying.

Bridge of Spies is not only a captivating story with incredible acting but is also an incredible story with historical value. The authenticity of the settings and events is part of its educational value.

On of my top five films of 2015. A great Cold War movie and surprising story of a regular man who was essential in releasing POWs. It's an amazing story of what patriotism really means for all involved.

a fun experience and a great period piece from the cold war era of the early 1960's . I know people that love history of the US and Soviet Union cold war days would be highly entertained by this movie

What can I say? Spielberg, Hanks, great pacing that builds to a satisfying ending for myself at least (a boomer). It my not be glitzy, but it gets the job done and retells an important event in history that felt like being there. A fine addition to Mr. Spielberg's film legacy.

This has got to be one of the best spie movies that I have seen in a long time. Coming up as a child in the 50's and 60's I can remember the Cold War Era. This is definitely a must buy movie.

Great dramatisation of the story to recover a downed US flier from the Russians and the East Germans in the 1960s. The distrustful and antagonistic atmosphere of the time is very well created.

Not having a TV, I wait till programs that interest me to come out in DVD sets---preferably after they've sunsetted and the whole series is included. Best Buy often has good prices on these sets.

I learned quite a bit from this movie and the reason i brought it so i could watch the extras and learn more about the film and the history behind the story. As usual Tom Hanks played a great role

I missed it at the movie theater so I bought the Blu-ray and wow was it good. I always like Steven Spielberg movies and you usually can't go wrong with Tom Hanks. I have watched it several times.

I love this movie, i actually watched it 5 times already. I watch the documentary of how the coin was found on History channel and this movie seems like the sequel to it...

Very interesting true story. A little dry at times, but it was still interesting to see the clothes, cars and decorations of the era. There was some suspense throughout the movie that kept you on the edge of your seat. Would recommend for 12 years or older, especially somebody interested in history.

I bought this movie out of interest. To my surprise this movie turns out better than I expected. The pace of the film is perfect. The actors are excellent. Overall, its a great film.

Bridge of Spies was a great movie. But any movie that stars Tom Hanks is a great movie. Would recommend this to everyone to watch. It is based on a historic event and time in the U.S.

I wished this movie won at the academy awards because I love the story and the content is rich- Spielberg is brilliant and Hanks is amazing! Loved the DTS HD Master 7.1 surround sound too!

Excellent movie. Great insight into the Cold War issues.

My favorite actor without a doubt............. another keeper DVD. I liked this video because of its almost total lack of violence and violent graphic scenes. Not typical of today's norm.

Bridge of Spies combined great acting & directing to create a special film. The only shortfall was some disjointed parts of the script that made some points hard to link together. There were a few minor historical mistakes that fortunately did not detract from the film. Overall excellent.
