The product is great for a local LAN storage unit, however the software is riding a bit behind in another car. The remote management feature works but, the SSL/TLS certificate is outdated for newer browser security.

Great storage solution for anyone with a mesh wire router setup with no USB connection. It plugs directly into a port on your router. Easy to setup. Really like the UI software, and the fact that it works flawlessly on my MacBook and Windows laptop. Also like that I can program it to sleep and wake up at certain times to give it time to cool.

Easy to install. Works with a small Network. Cheaper than what I paid for 1TB a few years back. It will backup several laptops, desktops on this hardware and for no extra charge in the Cloud, aswell.

Very easy to set up. Quick access from all computers on my home network. Owned a 1st Gen LinkStation for about 15 years and it is still working. Only upgraded to this unit for its enhanced security (newer SMBv2) which my older LinkStation did not support.

Because Microsoft keeps screwing with windows networking I needed a reliable way to share files with other computers on my network at home and this works just fine. I can access anywhere in my home and also remotely as long as I have WiFi. I have it hooked up as a LAN drive so if a device has access to the LAN it can see the drive. Love it and wish I had done this years ago.

I had never owned a Buffalo product, so I was a little reluctant to try them out. I'm glad I did. This works well and integrated into my network nicely. While the software is a bit clunky, the LinkStation works well once it is set up and accessible.

    Good drive but slow

Easy to set as a network drive, I do not need any cloud access so I have not tried that feature. The reason for 3 stars is that the drive is very slow even though it has a Gig network it still takes a long time to move files between computers and the drive.

Quality home "cloud" storage unit. Use it with 4 devices in separate folders, all linked through WiFi. One device can access all folders to look at data from another device. Can access data from remote locations.

What's not to like, plug it in, works fine. Happens to be just what I wanted, save files from anything on my network. No problems, easy to install. Nothing negative found to date. Fast enough for me but I don't back up my entire computer!

This is a very nicely made unit. Does not get hot like others I have had in the past. Set up is not too lengthy. Access speed is very fast. For the price this is the best drive out there.

Fairly easy to use. Installed software on several different computers and it works great. We can see everything shared on the drive. I was the software interface was a little more clean, but that in my only issue.
