Almost the Transformers movie we always wanted
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This disc looked beautiful in 4K HDR and sounded awesome in Dolby Atmos. The story was great, I’m glad for the reboot treatment. There were a few cringe-worthy points of cheesy awfulness but for the most part they pulled off having us care for the characters, human and robot. The other achievement in this film is NOT having the fight scenes be a blur of moving car and jet parts rolling around. We can actually tell what is happening in the action scenes. I’m not sure if it was through maintaining a particular color palette or just careful story boarding that made these fight scenes work. This, coupled with a decent script and a fun soundtrack made this film look and feel like what I was hoping the original movies would have been like.

Great Film
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This product is really great in every way and I recommend anybody should own it. If your a fan of the Transformers film franchise this is a movie you need to add to your collection it’s one of the best films in the history of the Transformers franchise. I really enjoyed watching this movie and I’m a huge fan of all the Transformers film franchise in general but apart from the past films this one is one of my top favorites. This movie is very entertaining in different ways and I thought it was very interesting and it’s a different style of movie compared to the past films because keep in mind this is the first time a Transformers film was not being directed by Michael Bay. I haven’t seen much of the work of this director of this movie Bumblebee but I was honestly impressed and satisfied with the work that was done in general to make this movie. If you haven’t seen this movie I recommend you see it and I would recommend it’s worth owning.

Best transformers film ever.
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This film works because the story and characters are from an origin story explaining the beginning of the series. The reason it works is that they went back to the basics versus the muddled mess that each subsequent Transformers became. The characters have likable personalities, their relationships ring true, and humor runs throughout the film. Bumblebee is a great pared down Transformer from the original child's toys that has been given a personality. Where the former series fell apart was the more and more massive battles of metal robots where you could not even tell who were the good guys and who were the bad. And even worse you did not care. And we did not care much about the humans. All this was reversed in this terrific film with a simpler story line and smaller scale action. This is one I can show my grand children and my son.

Honestly this was better than the original movies!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you've seen the previous 5 films and wasn't a fan maybe this movie will change your mind. It's a kind of "soft reboot" of sorts since it is a prequel to the original movie which came out in 2007. This film takes place in 1987 (the decade in which the Transformers first debuted) and is in my opinion well done. Bumblebee is (you guessed it!) a VW Beetle in this one (unlike the camaro of the previous films), which is true to the animated character. The Visual effects are good and the story has a heart to it (in fact, there is in fact an actual story in this movie, unlike the mega-action, little to no story of the previous films) and one that will keep you watching. This is also a little more family friendly than the previous films as Michael Bay is not directing this one. If you like the Transformers and want to see how a transformers movie should be done you should really watch this. It actually is worth what I paid for it. I just wish I could've gotten the steelbook edition before it had sold out.

The cartoon come to life
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Set in the 80's check. Characters actually look like the characters.. check Tons of action. Lots of heart. A good story. Check, check, and check. In my opinion to date this is the best Transformers movie and I wish they would make more set in the 80's. Can't say much more than this is a really good watch.

Blast from the past
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bumblebee is in my opinion a reboot to the Transformers franchise, which had become a bit too convoluted. This movie took the series back to its roots - the 80s. So if you grew up on the 80s cartoon Transformers you will surprised with some of the elements of this movie that reference the cartoon series. I also liked the music and other pop culture references from 80s as well. I must say that from a fight sequence stand point this movie may not be as action-packed as the previous movies. But there was enough to satisfy my needs. I think the character archs were well developed which helped the “slower” moments of the story. All in all a new story line and refreshing twist on a series that had become stale. I would recommend this movie to any Transformers fan!

The TRANSFORMERS movie we're always wanted
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I can't say enough about this fun, crowd-pleasing film. Starting on Cybertron, all the characters are closely rendered to their Gen 1 designs and it looks spectacular. Finally, we get to see these heroic robots look their best. Bumblebee is an endearing character and his relationship with Hailee Steinfeld is believable and entertaining. John Cena is more than just a meathead military guy, and the Decepticons are a truly menacing threat. Add the fact that this is set in the 80's (the era of the original Transformers) and you've got a winner. The UHD presentation bumps the visuals up a notch with a great surround track that really drives the action sequences home. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Excellent Prequel!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was an avid fan of the Transformers growing up as a kid in the 80’s. Suffice to say, I was thrilled when the movies got announced in the 2000’s. Though the movies certainly had some high points, most of them were disappointing. Fast forward to the release of Bumblebee and I was skeptical, but the trailers seemed to look pretty good. In the end, I decided I’d give it a try! So glad I did, as this is my favorite installment in the series. I love how the characters go back to the original 80’s designs— the designs I grew up with! The storyline is fantastic.... Really wish they could use the formula of this film and redo all the other ones after it!! Highly recommend!!!!

Heartful Transformers Movie!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.aramount Home Media Distributions has officially announced that it will release on 4K Blu-ray and Blu-ray Travis Knight's Bumblebee (2018), starring Hailee Steinfeld, John Cena, Jorge Lendeborg Jr., Pamela Adlon, and Kenneth Choi. Excellent
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bumblebee is a first rate prequel to the Transformers movie series. The action is great and the CG effects that create Bumblebee are outstanding. His robotic face shows a wide range of emotions. The real star is Hailee Steinfeld. She is one of the best actresses of her generation and is capable of carrying a movie by herself. She is perfectly cast as a disaffected teenager whose world is turned upside down when she stumbles upon her new Transformer friend. The Dolby Vision and HDR10 picture quality is excellent and the Atmos audio is properly immersive. In terms of the story line, acting, CG effects and technical merits, Bumblebee is a winner that is highly entertaining.

The Best Transformers Movie So far
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Another movie that is a pre-quell but the back story is more interesting and entertaining than all the other Transformers movies and I liked them all (for the most part). Bumblebee is an origin story, and it begins on Cybertron, where a decisive battle between the Autobots and the Decepticons takes place. In an effort to survive for a future battle, Autobots are sent rocketing into space to meet up at a later time on earth. Bumblebee is sent ahead to earth to prepare for their arrival. I won't share any more but I will say, it keeps you captivated throughout, has some intense action scenes, a sort of love story and it ends up being an all around enjoyable movie.

TRANSFORM!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This movie was GREAT. Okay what can I say about this movie to start? Well I was iffy when it came to this movie because after all these years of being in what felt like a bad relationship because of what Bay put us threw with the other Transformers movies I didn't want to see this at first. But I went and saw this and IT WAS GREAT. It didn't take 9 HOURS of my life with the same thing over and over and over again. It had a Beginning, Middle, and End and it finally felt fun and it made me like Transformers again. If you didn't see it because you got sick of the Bay movies this isn't one of his and you need to see this and buy it. You won't regret buying this.

Simple fun
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was a fun installment in the Transformer series and in this one the series takes a different approach in that it doesn't take itself as seriously. The movie still has the great special effects that make all Transformer movies a treat but otherwise its just a fun teenage romp of a movie with characters that are more endearing than fierce which works for the way the movie is written. The back story of Bumblebee's voice is just one of the many details that make this a movie worth watching. I do think those that wanted some kind of epic movie that would redeem the Transformer franchise will think its short of that but still an enjoyable part of the series.

Best Transformers movie!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bumblebee is a prequel to the live action Transformers film in the past few years. The previous film “Transformers: The Last Knight” was a big let down to the series. This film goes a bit into the origins of the Autobots and Deception war on Cybertron before venturing to Earth. Excellent use of cgi. As a fan of the original G1 Transformers, this movie more closely feels like the cartoons and toys I grew up on. Seeing many of the Transformers looking almost perfectly like the original designs (some cosmetic changes) feels really nostalgic. The movie is set in the 1980s though it doesn’t try to feel like it is replicating the 80s, as much as it feels like a movie that actually was made in the 80s. As it is a prequel to the first live action “Transformers” film, sharp eyes will notice tie-ins and a lead up to the previous films.

Fresh Restart of the Transformers Franchise
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After the last 2 messes of Bayverse Transformers films, it's nice to have a fresh start with Travis Knight's Bumblebee! Amnesiac Bumblebee was adorable, and his interaction/relationship with Hailee Steinfeld's Charlie Watson really humanized the Transformers live-action films! The 1980s soundtrack was amazing as well! Also...the beginning sequence on Cybertron gave me chills! SO MUCH G1 NOSTALGIA! I loved it!! The steelbook is fantastic and has a great image of Bumblebee in his robot mode on the front and his VW Beetle on the back. The inside artwork has Charlie and Bumblebee looking over the Horizon.

New life for the Transformers franchise
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A solid entry in the series, Bumblebee focuses on character development & interactions, rather than over-the-top CG-driven action sequences (of which there are still plenty). Humorous & heart-warming exchanges endear you to both Charlie and Bee, so you care what happens in the explosive action scenes. I have been a Transformers fan since the mid-80s, so I want to like all these movies. However, I was getting fed up with Shia LeBouf's one dimensional character and the singular focus on admittedly impressive giant robot battles. Explosions and battles are my bread & butter for most movies, but in a series we need to have complex, well-developed characters so we care what happens during the action sequences. Bumblebee focused on the right things and has Transformers back on track. Even my wife seemed to enjoy this one!

Huge Improvement
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Simply said, Travis Knight needs to be given the reins to the Transformers film franchise from this point on, which rumblings seem to confirm that he, in fact, does. Bumblebee succeeds in all the areas Michael Bay's filmed have failed. Now, I enjoy Bay's movies, but I enjoy them for what they are. Michael Bay is a phenomenal action filmmaker, and his action scenes are second-to-none. Outside of that, though, his movies can be pretty dire. Bumblebee doesn't have that problem. It's a beautifully cast, wonderfully acted film with so much heart and such a fun, emotionally resonant story. Yes, you still get your big ticket action sequences, but they aren't nearly as abundant as you'd expect from this franchise. I could've done with one more big set piece, but the action we do get is great stuff.

Great change of pace!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I consider myself a diehard transformers fan. Despite how the eventuality of a virtual s-storm the Michael Bay films became over the years, I still loved the popcorn nature of them. Bumblebee thankfully has rebooted the series without changing the look of what shocked and awed us the first time we saw Optimus transform on the big screen. This movie has an open and shut story. What I love is that this was more focused on the leading Lady than the leading bot. This is a great family film and if this is the direction the new director will look to be going..... You won't be disappointed.

Awesome steel book for an awesome movie
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Steelbook is beautiful with the black and yellow artwork, inside you have a nice landscape shot with Bee. The movie was great for any old school transformers fan as it brought back the nostalgia of the cartoons along with a new human character which was very likeable and fun. Dolby atmos is a huge plus on this 4k version as is the picture quality. Definitely worth the upgrade to 4k. I am hoping to see a continuation of this movie, set in the 80s with prime’s original big rig in battle with megatron hopefully soon. Definite buy for any movie fan, action fan, transformers fan!!

Recommended.
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. With engines roaring, guns blazing and a tank full of comedic fun, Bumblebee runs circles around the entire Transformers franchise, making it the best of the series with plenty of heart, humor, and spectacle. Anchored by a simple story about a pair of loners rescuing each other while saving the world, director Travis Knight brings back that sense of astonishment and amazement in seeing giant robots blow up stuff real good. The battle rages on Ultra HD with a fantastically gorgeous Dolby Vision HDR presentation that leaves its Blu-ray counterpart in the dust as well as an outstanding Dolby Atmos soundtrack. Equipped with a small but nonetheless enjoyable set of supplements, the overall UHD package is a recommended thrill ride for the whole family.
