I expected not a big upgrade coming from the wh1000xm5 but I came to be fascinated at how much the audio and fit improved my previous headphones. Not only the sound but the built quality improved by making them more ergonomic and foldable would recommend to anyone with the budget so they can get a premium sound experience with extreme comfort.

The Sony WH-1000XM6 do a lot of things right. Noise cancellation is excellent, the sound is refined and enjoyable, battery life is strong, and they’re comfortable for long listening sessions. On paper they look like a flagship product. The problem is the call quality. It’s honestly pretty bad for headphones that cost this much. Voices come across thin, muffled, or distant, and the mics struggle in anything short of a quiet room. Background noise rejection is weak, and people on the other end regularly ask me to repeat myself or switch to my phone. For a $400+ pair of headphones in 2026, this level of call performance feels unacceptable. That single shortcoming makes the overall package feel overpriced. You’re paying a premium for incremental upgrades in sound and ANC, yet one of the most basic everyday features—making clear phone calls—is a clear weak point. There are cheaper options that handle calls better while still delivering strong listening performance. These are good headphones for music and travel, but the poor call quality keeps them from feeling worth the money.

I’ve been really impressed with the XM6. The sound is clear with deep bass and balanced highs, and the noise cancelling works really well in everyday use. They’re lightweight and comfortable enough to wear for hours without pressure. Battery life easily lasts me through the day. Overall, it feels like a big step up from my old pair and worth the price.

The headphones are probably the best ones I’ve ever had, noise cancellation is on another level compared to my AirPods Pro 3’s,the cinema listening mode is also pretty good. Use them for the gym and studying I can say there pretty comfortable to wear them for long periods of time. 10/10 headphones

These have been amazing. I owned the previous generation of these headphones and they are much better in my opinion. Comfortable and great quality. Battery last for a long time.

The headphone sound great and the app lets you customize how the headphones sound so you can really get them to sound how you like. The headphones themselves are pretty comfortable for casual use and going to the gym

It’s too of the line when it comes to noise canceling comparable to the Bose headsets with different the pads are more comfortable on the Sony. Quality of sound is great but nothing exceptional as it is comparable to Apple or Bose headsets . It has different modes like Cinema etc that add more depth to it.

I returned my Apple AirPods Max for these and I don’t regret it, these are comfortable and light on the head and sound great, battery lasts me over a week, a bit bulky on the head. I use these 4x a week at the gym and they are the best headphone I’ve used for that so far

Been looking for a pair of overear headphones for a while now, and had settled with the Sony Ult Wear for a time. Did enjoy those, enjoyed the noise cancelling and sound quality, and finally decided to pull the trigger on these after seeing the sale price at under $500. All I can say is I was absolutely blown away. Noise cancelling is superb, and although I know nothing about if it's actually the best in the world, I can definitely say that it's better than any other headphones I've ever owned. Like it's almost not even close. On top of that, the touch controls are smooth and responsive, even when the headphones are a touch dirty from me wearing them at work (Diesel mechanic, so yes, they get filthy lol). Sound quality is amazing. Really feels like it can be fine tuned to whatever the users liking is, or at least it's had enough options for someone who's into music but not a full on audiophile. All in all, would say they're worth it for anyone who wants to enjoy music on a deeper level. I would say if you're not using Lossless audio on Spotify or the higher end audio types, you probably won't take full advantage of these, but they're an amazing listening experience nonetheless.

I bought this headphones about 3 weeks ago and I do not regret it. I wanted a pair of headphones that had good sound quality, were comfortable to wear for long periods of time and that I could also do light workouts with. If that’s what you are looking for, this are a great option!

I originally bought the XM-5, and I hated them, so when the Best Buy employee told me that the XM6s were much better, I was not inclined to believe him. However, I bought them anyways and figured if I hated them, I can just return them and get something else. He was right, though, these are really great headphones. All the issues that I had with the XM5s are not present in these. The sound is great, and they're definitely high-quality, top-of-the-line headphones. However, I'm a little bit clumsy, and I am a little scared that I'm going to break them. Maybe it's because I've been reading the subreddits on these, and have seen multiple photos of these mangled and broken im probably paranoid but im now I' m terrified of breaking these, and they feel more fragile than they did before. It's probably all in my head. These will probably last me a long time, but I have been looking at the headphones that are a step above these, as they have the steel metal pieces instead of the plastic that I really wish these had.

This is by far the best headphones i have ever owned. Sony knocked it out of the park with this one. The sound is amazing with the presets out of the box but customized eq is even better. The noise canceling is amazing. They fit really good on my ears even during long listening sessions. Voice controls are handy also.

I was genuinely surprised by these headphones. I went from the apple airpod max’s and let me tell you, it was a big jump. These are so light and sound amazing. The only dislike I have for them is that my ears sometimes touch the mesh inside the earpiece. Other than that I definitely recommend these headphones.

Before buying the Sony XM6, I compared them with the Apple AirPods Max. I honestly felt the Sony headphones were much better. The noise cancellation has very minimal low humming sound, and the cinematic mode along with the overall audio quality is excellent. I also love how lightweight and comfortable they feel. The only drawback is that they don’t look as premium as the AirPods Max. But apart from that, the sound quality, adaptive noise cancellation, and cinematic sound experience are awesome.

Solid headphones and best in class. The transparency really surprised me on how good it is, truly feels like you're wearing nothing. Microphones are really good as well and pick up everything. Sound stage is full, battery life is exceptional and comfort is A1.

Great headphones. Most comfortable and best sounding pair I have ever used. I wish you could control a few more settings with buttons on the headphones instead of only the app. If you want over the ear phones, these are an easy option to pick. Battery life is incredible. Never

The sound is awesome. If you are an artist, or maybe you need a traveling companion, this is the real deal. The battery lasts more than 48hrs with a full charge. A friend recommended it to me, I was hesitant in gettin it but I am so happy i got it. It filters noises so very much more tuan any of the headphones I have ever used. So I strongly recommend it.
