Average Transfer At Best.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I saw this film first run in the theaters and have seen it a few times over the years, but not for about 15 years. The price was right, so I bought it. It was good to see Paul Newman at his artistic peak, but the film itself hasn't aged well. It's dated and I doubt I'll watch it again. Also, the volume during the songs -- "Raindrops..." particularly, is blaring. Yes, it was an Academy Award winning song, but when it comes up, it knocks you back in your chair. That could have easily been rectified. The equalization on it is also a little harsh, particularly on the music. It's clear they didn't spend any time on the video or audio transfer. Just used the old DVD master.
