Let's start with the pros: - The voice search to find programs across devices and apps keeps me hooked. It really is the best implementation of this functionality. We have an Nvidia Shield TV, a Roku, and Frontier DVR. It switches to the correct app or channel perfectly and quickly. The voice search is fantastic. - Video and audio quality seem good - Interface is nice and easy to use. It just makes sense. Now for the cons: - The remote is a cheap plastic toy that has to constantly have its batteries replaced. A rechargable remote would have been nice. - It doesn't control my Samsung TV or soundbar without using the IR blaster. This is the fatal flaw I mentioned. The Caavo sits behind our TV, which is over the fireplace on a moveable mount. We have nowhere to put the IR blaster for it to work, therefore we have to use a separate remote to control volume. This defeats the purpose of the "Universal Remote" feature. - The black plastic scratches easily. It has been sitting behind our TV and simple dusting has caused very obvious micro scratches on the finish. Overall, I'm impressed. I'm hoping there is some improvement to the remote (maybe allow purchase of an upgrade?) as well as upgrade to enable TV control via IP or HDMI. I hate having to use two remotes on my universal remote system. I'm going to stuck with it for a while, mostly for the voice search.

OK - But not using it anymore
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.If you need a good HDMI switch with a responsive remote to control the inputs to the switch AND you don't want to use any of the smart TV functionality that you may have already purchased with your TV set (such as Roku TV on a TCL TV) then you may find this item to your liking. I have multiple streaming devices and a Roku TV - but unfortunately I cannot get to the Roku TV functionality with this device. Also, unfortunately if you also want to control non-HDMI devices in an entertainment center (such as equipment that interfaces with bluetooth to an AVR) then this will also not work for you. I bought this with the hope that it would replace a Harmony Home Ultra/Hub configuration but it just does not have the flexibility that the Harmony has. So it now occupies a drawer of unused equipment in my entertainment center. Too bad for me, but if you have a simple configurations and it is all based on HDMI-based external devices, then this may work for you.

Posted .Thanks for the review. Control Center needs to communicate with devices in order to interact with them properly. The older, non-HDMI devices typically do not have the means of communicating effectively. We may have some interesting news soon regarding certain Smart TVs.

Just okay

The voice control works most of the time. There is a display that shows apps. My major problems is that if you hook your paid tv service to the Caavo then you lose the ability to view on demand movies and shows. As well there is no way to watch any pay per view. It does recommend movies but it uses a line display, I prefer a visual display. It recommends movies that I have already seen or that are already on my saved list. I haven't really had a wow experience with this box.

Good Idea but Costly

Interface is clean and very promising, but the cost for service. No one wants to pay for a subscription. What happens is you get lifetime and the company goes under. Not everything needs to have a subscription. Gave it 3 Stars because it's pretty smooth. I don't need a subscription when i can just google search or ask Alexa to search. Also first time around took me forever to realize you have to power on the device you are connecting to Caavo during installation. It won't let you pass a certain screen. Had to Google it. Kinda missed that one Caavo.

Decent hdmi switch box
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this to add more inputs to my LG soundbar so the voice feature is a plus, however, there are times when the remote will not control my Amazon TV box. And last but not least, I have a 3d TV so this unit will not pass 3d but it will pass atmos and hdr. No Dolby vision yet. Voice feature does work so the more devices connected the more it will find for whatever you are searching for.

Great idea; poor execution

The price was right on Black Friday, so I puled the trigger. Here's the issue, though: It's basically nothing more than an HDMI switch and a universal remote mashed into one product… That's all well and good, except it advertises itself to be more, and it doesn't live up to the promises. I should be able to speak the name of a show I want to watch, and the Control Center is supposed to take me to my preferred streaming service and begin playing the show from where I left off. But it doesn't connect to my iTunes Library so that it can search the content on my computer's hard drive and play the things available to me on my Apple TV. It also doesn't connect to YouTube TV, so the primary services I want to use it for are not supported. AND it comes with a monthly fee. Very disappointing.

Inconsistent performance

I had issues with it turning on my TV, after learning the commands from the existing remote (It didn't have a 2 year old TCL in its database), the test works fine every time, but only about 1/2 the time does it work when you want it to. I love the HDMI hub idea, I just wish it worked all the time.

Posted .Sorry to hear you had trouble setting up your Control Center. Service plans are not required to use Control Center. Without a plan you are not able to use voice, deep-linking or partnered features. nice idea but didn't work for me

It works well for media devices like Apple TV or Amazon firestick but I have Spectrum TV and it just didnt work. Hopefully, a couple years down the road, Caavo will get it all figured out.

Good for Some

The functions of the device work great, with integrating your streaming devices, game consoles, and more. Where the device struggles is, you have to pay to use the universal search feature (searches movies or tv shows across multiple streaming services, i.e. Netflix, Amazon Prime Video). But, the universal search feature is just poor. I canceled this feature, because I did not want to have to pay for a feature that is limited. Also, the voice feature on the remote is awful. It just searches on the universal searcher. You cannot ask questions for example. I wish CAAVO would partner with Google and make the voice feature on the remote work with the Google Assistant, since this device is powered by Android TV. My most favorite part of the device is, being able to quickly switch between my Chromecast or FireTV! Overall, the device is okay. Needs work.

Not so good

I went to set it up and it got stuck in the setup mode. Unplugging it didn't help and customer support was a joke. I got so frustrated, I returned it. Maybe if the setup would have gone well or customer service was good, I would have kept it. It would have been interesting to find out how well it really worked.

Glorified HDMI Switch

Wish all HDMI-CEC controls were passed through but not all. When my Apple TV goes to sleep, if its connected to the TV directly, the TV shuts off, however the Caavo blocks that signal. Voice control isn't very useful and also much slower than just going to where you want to go. Alexa integration is hit/miss.

A good 4 port HDMI switch

If you can disable the copyright feature let's say for an example on a PS4 then you'll enjoy the hub. Most normal devices like TV boxes and non game consoles will work.
