The water pitcher filter has gotten progressively louder and the ice maker is not as efficient as it was a year ago.

Posted .The icemaker on this lovely refrigerator under optimum conditions is designed to produce 7 cubes of ice every 39 to 49 minutes for an average rate of about 4.25 pounds of ice per day. A clogged water filter will impact ice production. Depending on the age of your refrigerator, you may consider replacing the filter. Other factors that can contribute to slow production include door openings as the icemaker is dependent on freezer temperature to make ice. Very little food or no food in the fresh food or freezer sections may slow down the production of ice as well. If the fresh food and freezer compartments are less than 1/2 full, plastic gallon jugs of water may be placed in the refrigerator compartment to assist in maintaining the proper temperature and run time. A few bags of ice or plastic gallon jugs of water (not too full, as the water expands when it freezes) may be placed in the freezer. Cold items help maintain a cold internal temperature.
