    The Café Smart Drip 10-Cup Coffee Maker is mostly made of plastic, with the exception of the insulated coffee pot. Because it's primarily plastic, the coffee maker lacks a heating plate, which is a major drawback. The insulated coffee pot, unfortunately, feels incredibly cheap and doesn't keep the coffee hot, even when set to the highest temperature. The overall construction of the coffee maker feels flimsy, and it doesn't justify the high price. Additionally, the bottom of the pot tends to leak consistently. Overall, I would not recommend this product—it's simply not worth the money.

      This coffee maker has a Drip Stop Lever (check valve) in the bottom of Brew Basket Insert that is designed to close when the carafe is removed. If there is leaking/dripping when removing the carafe, we recommend removing the brew basket and cleaning with soap and water. Chances are there is a small debris (coffee ground or lint from the paper filter) that is keeping the valve from closing completely causing the dripping. If the issue persist, we recommend you take advantage of the one year limited warranty by contacting Café Support at: 1-800-432-2737. cafe_appliances

    JUST AFTER ONE YEAR AND ONE MONTH OF USE IT WAS DAMAGED AND IT DID NOT WORK ANYMORE, I USED IT EVERY DAY ONCE A DAY ONLY IN THE MORNING I LIKED IT BUT I DON'T KNOW WHETHER TO MAKE THE INVESTMENT AGAIN I THOUGHT I COULD HOLD LONGER THAN THAT!!! !

    cannot find filters to fit. why is it impossible to built coffee makers that use the same water filter

    I'll start with the obvious - this coffeemaker is gorgeous. Beyond that, it's nothing special. I have tried everything, and like other reviewers, even the bold setting brews a very weak cup of coffee. I tried adding 50% (!!) more grounds, I tried adding an extra filter to slow the brewing down...nothing worked. There is no warming plate, so the coffee, even at the highest temp setting, does not stay warm very long. If you enjoy a good strong cup of coffee, this is not going to be for you. I'm returning after trying for days to get a good cup of coffee.

    A bit difficult to program. Note that the "copper" handle is not really a copper handle. It is matched to the carafe with plastic. Very fragile.

    Beautiful, but...

    I love this coffee maker, but it came with a couple caveats. Our first one had to be returned due to an obvious paint blemish. Seems petty, but this isn't a $25 dollar machine. The second one looked and worked awesome, until this week. 4.5 months later, it quit dispensing the water to make coffee. Everything seems fine, it comes on, but no water comes out. I'm glad I opted for the extra warranty plan on this one, but still. Is the third one going to last? I think this is a GE brand, so not sure what the deal is. We'll see how this one goes. Disappointed, but I'm too in love with the style to give up yet.

    This coffee pot is beautiful but it does not make very hot coffee. So disappointed in how it doesn't heat up and stay hot. It does make coffee quickly and quietly.

    It's a good looking sleek coffee pot however the reason why I purchased it was because I was looking for a pot that made the coffee really hot. This one is not the one for that. There is no heating plate. When the coffee comes out, it's not but not smoking hot like when you get it from Dunkin.

      We appreciate your feedback. Our coffee makers with an insulated carafe do not have a warming plate. Consider preheating the thermal carafe by filling with hot water, then empty the carafe and start the brew cycle. cafe_appliances

    I bought this coffee maker for my husband’s birthday. He’s been using a pour over system for years now but wanted something that takes less time during the weekdays. I don’t know how it does it but it makes a superb cup of coffee! Definitely worth the money.

    Purchased this Coffee pot to match Kitchen appliances. Due to high price, I had very high expectations. Coffee pot, out of the box, indicated an error code. Online data indicated that certain water should not be used. Replaced water several times and still not one drop of coffee was made. Technical Support would not answer. The only good thing I have to say about this Coffee Maker was that the Return was quick and easy!

    I love my new coffee pot! I am a former barista and having my morning coffee is an important part of my day. It was a little expensive, but if so worth it!

    7 month review and machine now will randomly shut off when ever i try to brew a pot of coffee. Descaling doesnt help either. Emailed support and was told to unplug for 30 seconds which did not help. Unplugged for 2 days and machine still will do hard shutdown and reboot after brewing and or trying to descale. Before this issue the machine worked great

    I hate waking up to push start then waiting. This, while ridiculous, makes my life that much easier. I can start the coffee. By the time I get downstairs the coffee is made and I can start my day. It’s really the energy and time saving I love

    Makes great coffee! Packaging is really good. It was a Christmas present surprise, so a little disappointed that it was delivered to my wife in a box that clearly had “coffee pot” in big letters so that kind of blew the surprise.

    Pretty coffee maker BUT coffee does not get hot enough. Because of high altitude can’t even use the gold feature. Not worth the $$$.

      Hi there! Thanks for the review. Sorry to hear about the issues you've had with your coffee getting hot enough. This coffee maker is regulated for temperatures between 185 and 205° F. It's recommended to brew between 195 to 205° F for best flavor extraction. For altitudes over 5,000 feet, use 185° F to prevent water from boiling. This model, since it has a glass carafe, also has a warming plate under the carafe to help keep the coffee hot after it's been brewed. - If you're finding that your coffee isn't hot enough or doesn't match the set temp, the temperature setting is based on the temperature of the water when they contact the coffee grounds. Said temperature will be lower in the carafe at the end of the brew. Because of this, checking the temperature with a thermometer is not an accurate way to verify temperature. - We do hope this helps. If you've got other questions, know that we're always here to help.     Super simple layout. I like that it heats water to 205 degrees. Still not hot enough in my opinion but better than most other coffee makers.
