Like many other I got this free with my RP. As a hobby photographer I have been saving up for a new body. I already have my favorite ef lenses so this was all I needed to start shooting!

Just like most Canon product or adaptors they made. The adaptor is well made and good quality as you normally would expected from Canon. It is a basic adaptor for adapting EF or EF-S lenses to R mount.

Does its Job, but Questionable at Wide Angle

I believe this is a good transition accessory for your EOS R while you build up your RF glass, but I'm finding it sketchy at wide angles. No issues at 50mm and above, but when I shoot 16mm on my 16-35 it distorts a fair amount at the edges, and lens profile corrections in Lightroom don't help. If I had to guess there is just enough distance variation between the back of the lens and the sensor to tweak it a bit.

Bought this while I waited for the version with the control ring. Works seamlessly with my canon and sigma lens. Fit is perfect unlike the aftermarket brands.

Bought it to use my EF lens on my EOS RP camera. So far I do not see any problems with it. Only down side is that this makes lenses to stick out a little more.

One of my main reasons for getting the EOS R was this adapter. The EF lenses work with no problems. You have full control of aperture and the autofocus works like it would on a DSLR.

Autofocus remains super fast with this adapter and older EF lenses on the R body. It does add a bit of bulk to your setup but the smaller R body negates the effect, at least for me.

It does everything you expect it to. Let’s face the facts. You will buy this adapter over a 3rd party one because it canon made. Stop reading reviews and just buy it
