Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Had been waiting for this one to become available for some time, after all the hype about it, was a little frustrating waiting for it to actually hit the market. Does a great job, I'm very happy with the picture quality obtained so far. Controls are pretty easy to figure out. A lot of options I still haven't played with of course. Very solid camera, weather sealing seems to be all it was advertised as. With my L-series lenses, does a great job!

Awesome full frame camera for filmmakers!

I am an aspiring filmmaker which is what I use this body for and its perfect! It's a bit pricey but well worth it for anybody serious about their craft.

Good camera but not as great as the Nikon D810
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this camera and used it for a week along with the EF 24-70 f2.8 lens and returned it for the following reason. Now I have the Nikon D810 What's not great in the 5D mark iii: The spot metering in 5D works only in the center spot. Ever in the beginner level Nikons the spot metering is tied to the AF points, This is a feature that I use a lot of times, The EOS 1D series cameras have this feature and not 5D mark iii. Too much noise at higher ISOs Lack of inbuilt flash Lack of AF assist illumination Very low Dynamic range The D810 clearly beats the 5D mark iii in all the above + with a higher resolution sensor for a $200 difference What is great in the 5D mark iii: The 61 point AF system is amazing and is so fast
