I've been using a Rebel T6 for almost 2 years and knew I had hit my limit on the abilities of the camera body - so upgrade it was! I did a lot of research (knowing I wanted to stay with Canon) and found that the reliability of a DSLR over mirrorless was what I was looking for. I am so in love with all of the dynamic range this full-frame, low-light-loving camera gives me.

An excellent camera. Although older technology it's still a tremendous workhorse. The last great DSLR.

I have had the Mark III for years now, and as a professional photographer I got a ton of use out of it. So far the Mark IV is even more impressive. I haven't used it a lot at this point but setting it up is still very similar to the previous Mark, still about the same weight, atleast I didn't notice a difference, and now touch screen! Overall you won't be disappointed with a camera in this series!

I purchased the 5D Mark IV as an upgrade from the 6D and am so happy with my decision. Much better dynamic range, and no comparison on the AF. The AF is very comparable to my wildlife camera, the 7D Mark II. I had a chance to take it on a photography trip shortly after purchasing, and 6000 images later, I am still quite happy with it. Also found I used the touch screen menus much more than I was expecting. Looking forward to more time with it and giving the 4K video a go.

Had been waiting for this camera specifically because it's a full frame sensor and has built-in wifi. I knew of this models line and history and expected more of the same, which is great picture taking. I don't do much video taking so all the complaints of the sensor being cropped during video recording is insignificant to me. I did wait a few weeks before making the purchase to get see some reviews before I picked it up. So far I am extremely happy with it.

CR2 is Better than CR3 Raw

I shot with my Canon 5D Mark II until the very end this past September when the shutter finally gave out after 10 years . What I loved about that camera was the color space that came with the CR2 camera raw . I like my raw files as close in color as the JPegs ( I shoot both Raw & JPEGs ) Most of the newer cameras have CR3 raw profiles which you have to work more to get a proper color in post. So Happy the Canon 5D MK IV has CR2 Raw camera color profile! I wish more cameras had that.

Straight out of the box on auto settings my child, (age 9), was able to shoot pics that would be par with professional photographers. Toss in some knowledge and added skill and this camera will make you see the world through a different view. This will be the last camera I ever buy.

the reviews that I have seen concentrate on the technical characteristics of the focusing system and the noise level of the sensor. while these are valid features of this camera, having used a 5DIII for several years, I find the interface and usability of the 5DIV hugely improved. I love the touch screen, which is very functional. the usability of the camera for me is a very important reason to prefer one camera over others.

This was suppose to be my next step up from a Canon 40D. Oops I guess I forgot to use baby steps. I wanted to purchase a full frame DSLR with a high increase in over all picture quality and size, the 5D Mark IV definitely qualifies. Once I compared the two cameras it was like the 40D was a camera phone, I guess that explained why it only had 10.1 mega pixel. I am extremely excited and satisfied with my purchase.

I have 7d mk ii as well and this compares really well. I love how good the images are with higher ISO >1600 when compared to 7d mkii. I use it with 70-200 f2.8 and 24-70 f4.. There isnt much difference in the image quality when compared with 7d mkii for images with ISO <800. I bought this mainly for indoor photography and it is really good at it.

    Dream Camera

This has been my dream camera for many years. I had the original Canon 5D for over 10 years and it finally quit on me. I was devastated, but decided it was time to trade up. There is a bit of a learning curve with the Mark IV and I am still getting used to some of the differences but it is an undeniable upgrade. The photos I have taken so far have been beautiful. It seems to bring out the best in my lenses and has amazing low light capability. The biggest problem I have run into so far is that the RAW files from this camera can't be read by my Adobe Lightroom program so I had to download the Canon RAW file converter. I'm sure I will come up with a new work flow in time. For now, I'm just not shooting in RAW since the file size is much larger than with the original 5D anyway. The camera arrived very quickly, a day ahead of schedule, and was well packaged. I had to sign for it, which is good considering it wasn't an inexpensive item. Overall, I am very pleased with the purchase and look forward to several years of use.

I’ve been waiting so long and even started to lose my canon gears for Sony, and here it comes finally. Overall, this is a very solid performer and have almost everything I wanted. Particularly, 4k internal recording and touch screen focus for both still and video.
