Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Hi, I am a long time canon user and will continue to be. I have owned the mk3 the 6d the t3i and the t2i. I am heavily invested in canon and their glass so I was extremely excited and waited a very long time for this camera to come out. I purchased it from the local Best Buy in launch day, it is a spectacular camera for stills and 1080p video. The autofocus system is excellent, it's fast and even in live view it is nearly as fast as it is through the viewfinder. I also love the touch screen it makes navigating the menu and making adjustments so much quicker and you can pinch to zoom on your pictures. I had a major problem with the 4K though, the codec this camera stores it in is so huge that it was unusable on my early 2016 MacBook Pro. It would lag while watching it and even trying it edit it was nearly impossible. I'm unsure why canon went with such huge codec but I returned it because of this. It's not enough different for me to justify the expense with the 4K codec. I will just wait for the next 6d and hope the issue is resolved by then. If your looking for a great stills camera by all means get this bad boy, if you have a mk3 and want a 4K upgrade its not quite there yet unfortunately

Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Not one to jump on the newest release of any electronics product, I plugged along with my reliable Canon 5D Mk II for years before finally upgrading. Now I kick myself for waiting! So many features, so much versatility. It's chocked full of photo goodness! In fact, I sleep with it each night, snuggled up next to it and whisper how much I love it. My wife is not amused.
