Got this last Thanksgiving to start learning photography. I have been liking it so far especially the fact that it’s light weight and mirror less which is the future !

I've had this camera for a while and will provide thoughts on it. I wanted to move from a point and shoot to an interchangeable lens camera to get better image quality. The APS-C sensor does a decent job of providing images; it greatly outshines the p&s camera I had prior. The controls take some getting use to, so be sure to download a manual as the settings are not intuitive. Example, to shoot UHD video you need to go through various menus and wheel turns. For the price I paid, this is a very nice starter camera, but I will definitely upgrade once my skills become more refined. Be sure to get some lens adapters so you have more options for lenses.

Excellent camera for 4K video blogging and YouTube content. 15-45 Kit lens is good IF you have good lighting to along with the camera. Plan on either getting lighting to support your video efforts or get another lens with a lower f stop (2.8). You can watch setup videos on YouTube to gain best performance.

I'm impressed with the videos. I film in 30fps mostly and love the 24 fps as well. There's a learning curve on that, but worth it. The intelligent scene get's an amazing shot easily.

Love the camera quality is really nice. Only thing is it shuts off after 30 mins of recording which can be annoying if you aren’t paying attention.

I love the auto focus on this camera. The colors are also very vibrant and expected in a canon cam. Very lightweight for it being a mirror less camera. Def recommend for vlogging

I've owned several 16mp cameras but I wanted a higher pixel count for greater detail in my images. I considered the Canon RP, but the dioptre adjustment range on the EVF isn't as wide as with the R for some reason so what else was there with a fully articulated screen with a dioptre adjustment range that allowed me to use it? And of course, within my budget? The Canon M50. Pixel per £pound for a compact system camera with fully articulated screen and range of lenses available, it's pretty unbeatable. I bought this system from JL while it was price matched elsewhere, and Canon had a cashback offer on the system too. I also bought at the same time, the EF-EOS M adapter which allows access to the EF and EF-S range of lenses. After a couple of weeks and I bought the EF-S 60mm Macro lens, again from JL. The image quality from the camera is simply stunning. I only wanted the camera for pictures, so any shortcomings in the video specification were unimportant. That said, I've had good results with the video capability, mostly due to having a wide range of focal lengths available that counters any cropping issues.

Nothing bad to say about this gifted item. The recipient has been able to take great pictures and says it's an amazing camera. There is a learning curve for understanding use, however a beginner would be pleased to start with this camera and possibly evolve with it to an expert photographer.
