i purchased this open box on 11/16 and i must say i am impressed. i normally shoot with Nikon, but i wanted to test the water with this one and yes i am impressed. the battery life does suck or maybe it is me doing something wrong. the user interface is clean and not confusing. it takes a little time to get use to the touch bar feature, IMO. i'm just a freelance street photographer. i did test it out in some landscape over the weekend and wow i like what I'm seeing from the included lens. now i just need to find a battery with better life.

Not a professional photographer by any stretch of my imagination, however, I have been taking photographs since the late 60's when film was the order of the day. My first serious camera in the 70's was a Canon, then I migrated to Olympus and now I'm back to Canon. The EOS R is easy to set up and there are many options to choose from depending on your style of shooting. My type of photography is centered on nature and landscapes. My first full frame camera was the EOS 6D Mark II which took me a little bit getting use to. Which in hind sight, made learning the EOS R functions a little easier to understand. Still getting use to the slider bar which I have set up to work my ISO settings, but over all the camera as a whole is great. I am becoming more and more attached to the EOS R because of the operating capabilities and ease of set up. I like to shoot in the manual mode, so how the camera communicates with me is important. It is easy to understand in most cases very responsive.

Great camera! Fantastic open box deal that paired with canon’s 24-105 RF L F4 lens. This deal was too good to pass up! At 30.3 MP and the same sensor as canons 5D flagship DLSR. This camera has gone in my bag as my “ walking around” camera. I take it everywhere.

I was having a hard time deciding to go with Canon, Nikon and Sony. I am so glad I didn't listen to the YouTube video reviews. I have only had this camera a month but it has not failed me in any way. I think there is room for improvement in the AF but the AF works great for wildlife and bird photography.

I love my EOS R. But just few months later came the R5 and the R6 and i wish i had waited. But, still, loving my R. No regrets because R6 is crazy expensive than the R.

I read many reviews of the Canon EOS R before I finally bought it. I can say that I am more than impressed at how this camera performs! Once you take the time to learn the controls (which is not that hard) and customize some settings, using the camera becomes very intuitive and easy. I LOVE the fast, accurate focusing with all lenses and even in low light. The RF 24-105L lens is super sharp and quiet, and I can't wait to try other RF lenses. I have used many EF mount lenses, and all work seamlessly with the EOS R. The size and weight are nice too. I am a long-time Canon user, but this is my first full-frame digital camera. The low-light performance is excellent with minimal noise even very high ISO settings. I've taken nearly 4,000 photos on this camera so far, and it has never disappointed me.

    A new experience from Canon

I had the EOS R for a few days, but only one shooting session so far. So, very preliminary impressions: - the new RF lenses seems a step ahead in usability, functions, and performance - The control ring is a great addition. The adapter with the control is almost indispensable if you start shooting with the EOS R and EF lenses - Portability - size, weight, and ergonomics - are excellent. Had to familiarize a little to the new button layout and slightly modify the grip, but overall feeling and maneuverability great - I had some initial troubles configuring Bluetooth connectivity to enable GPS, but all sorted out. I consider GPS coordinates to be an integral part of a photo experience - Shot 700+ RAW photos in roughly 3 hrs, and drained the entire battery. Lesson learned: will always keep a spare one with me - need to familiarize with the focus system, but setting the Multi-Function bar to round-robin all AF modes seem logical, natural and a no brainer after few minutes After some months, I can confirm the first impression. Actually, from an ergonomic perspective, I find the EOS R excellent, and the multi-function bar extremely useful and an integral part of the overall experience. I am looking forward to more RF lenses in the second half of 2019. I usually shoot with a Canon 5D Mark iv and the Canon 1 D X mark II. I now consider the EOS R my first choice for travel, landscape, urban architecture, and portraits.

Purchased just over a month ago and am truly impressed with this camera and lens. Amazing detail, colors and the flip out touch screen is a huge benefit. The menu is very simple to use and the low light performance is amazing even without a large aperture lens. Auto white balanace is way better then our 5Ti that we stepped up from. Have taken some amazing family portraits, animal pictures and cascading waterfalls that look like icing even when holding the camera by hand. Lens's are pricey but the quality is amazing. Saving up for another lens.

This camera is so light and the image quality is just amazing. I primarily have been using this camera for live streaming and product video creation and I am beyond please. When live streaming you just need to download the Cannon EOS utility and then change the setting to get HD video. With that being said the video quality is so crisp is like being there. Picture quality has been solid is well. With pictures is more about knowing how to use the camera in manual to get the best photos. The pictures that we have taken in auto have been sharp and crisp as well. What I like most about the camera is the display on the back of the unit. I can just touch to the change my focal point instead of manual having to do it.

I like most everything about this camera, the new RF lenses are solid, full-frame camera and I can still use my old glass (RF lenses). The electronic viewfinder makes it easier to get a good preview of the light condition and the final result. The only drawback is the screen touch AF point that I like to use it but I keep touching it with my nose and moving the AF point way. Solid camera equivalent to 5D Mark IV and a faster processor, one card slot can be a problem for some professionals.

Paired with a decent photo editing platform, magazine quality shots every time. I went all out and bought the new 50mm RF lense. It is just phoenomenal! Highly recommended. This from an amature/intermediate photographer. Plus, it is so easy to use and configer. Wifi was a little tough, bluetooth isn't too easy to connect. Both do work, however. Haven't done too much video, because I love the actual shots, but I'm planning. I will update when I do video. So far, awesome camera!

I have owned many Canon DSLR cameras since their first one (60D). I love Canon products in general: Cameras, Lenses, Scanners, Photo Printers. The EOS R is light, full-frame, and has features I love: RF lenses with Control Ring, touch screen focus, live-view view finder, high pixels, and so many other features.

This camera is great upgrade from my Canon 6d. The flip out touch screen is a huge bonus. The size and weight are just right. It is also much faster and eye detection is very helpful locking in the focus on a moving person.
