Great mirrorless camera from Canon

Features I really love include the on-screen real-time histogram, ease of adjusting setting with control-ring, and the new slide/tap bar that I use for quick ISO adjustment. The menu system has same approach and color-tabbed organization that a Canon user like me is used to. I like that I can have several My Menus for different sets of settings.
I have only done a couple of quick videos with the cLog feature on, but have yet for edit it.
Image quality is excellent. Noise not visible at 1:1 or 2:1 in LR, and excellent image quality through 2500 ISO and quite good up to 6400 ISO. I’m still getting used to it as have only been shooting for a couple of weeks.
If you have been considering going mirrorless, and love your Canon gear, consider getting this camera.

The original Canon Mirrorless camera!

Wanted to get a full frame sensor body and try a mirrorless camera. Paired with the 24 - 105mm f4L glass, great photos with faithful color. Menu settings will be familiar to anyone with previous a Canon DSLR. Wi-Fi set-up and pairing with Canon Camera Connect is much faster. Since the RP, R5 & R6 were introduced this camera is a great value. When you receive the camera, visit canon.com to download and install latest firmware update (v1.6). RF series zoom is medium range, but because it uses L series glass has much better clarity. This is a better tool in the hands of enthusiasts!

I bought the EOS-R when it was first released. I had been shooting with a 7D MK-II up until then and had collected a good amount of EF lenses. Having the EF adapter and being able to use my EF lenses on the R is awesome! The R has been a great camera so far and I'm happy with my decision to upgrade to the R for my first full frame camera. The photos I'm getting straight out of camera are pretty amazing. I wish IBIS was included in the R but honestly I've never had IBIS before so I'm fine without it.

I was using the 5D Mark III for a while and considered the Mark IV for my real estate photography business... I picked this up on a whim to try the mirrorless out and ended up falling in love with the touch screen, the custom slide button on the back and the focus assist with my tilt-shift lens. Good quality images as expected, but really enjoy the price point and new features. Looking forward to a fancier sensor line in future models.

I did not open the camera kit I purchased but have used a friends. Shortly after I purchased there were rumors of the R5 so I returned and ordered the R5. The camera is well made, fits nicely in my hand and produces sharp, well balanced photos with the right lenses. Colors out of the camera are very pleasing to my eye. The camera does not have stabilization built in so for those needing image stabilization purchase a lens with it built in. The camera, although not perfect, is a joy to shoot with.

It may lack dual card slots and image stabilization among some other things, but the image quality surpasses many of the more popular cameras like Sony in my opinion. Not to mention the autofocus for video is like no other camera. You can simply tap whatever you want and it will do more than just focus on that object, but it will “follow” that object. I don’t think a lot of people realize that. That is major when you want to move your camera or subject/object and have the camera focus follow it. I could be wrong, but I don’t think the other cameras do that. That and image quality is why I stick with Canon and when they come out with the Pro or flagship version of this camera (which I hope they add all those things missing), I will be getting it!

I use the EOS R for real estate and macro photography.
So far I really love it. Design and build is good however the slider bar on the back is annoying. Easy to disable and I'm sure I will find a use for it someday since it is programable.
Love the lens line up for this series and especially the 4K video and fold out viewer.
I still prefer my 5DMKIII over this for because of the layout of the controls on back but seriously thinking of replacing that one with the R5 or R6.

This is a great camera for intermediate users that will take the time to download the user's guide and read it closely. It has a lot of features that can be useful using different options for taking high quality photos. Can also use the automatic setting for a point & shoot camera and it takes awesome photos as well! Would recommend updating the camera before trying to use it. Would also recommend downloading Canon's free Digital Photo Professional, it is easy to use on RAW & C-RAW images.

As mentioned this camera is great but make sure to update the firmware in order to get the benefit of improved focusing system.
Video quality is great. File sizes are pretty large but worth it for the quality you get from this system.

Had a 6D before and wow ... the electronic viewfinder is a little strange at first but once you get used to it, you’ll have a hard time going back! Worth every penny, I love it! With the EF adapter you can use all your current lens collection.

Switched from a 6D mkII definitely an improvement. Great picture quality, the ring control on the 24-105 lens rocks, I configured it to change the aperture. There are still a lot of things that I need to figure out but I’m happy with this

I have 5Dm4 and 6D DSLR's , EOS-R is my first Canon FF mirrorless Camera. All works fine, however the image stabilization is not near 6 stops perhaps 3 f-stops, it is a bit bulky and much heavier then the Olympus mirrorless cameras. (Olympus on the other hand is MFT ) Also the dynamic range is not as good as the 5Dm4 otherwise it is good camera.
I got this camera because I have already many Canon lenses, but I feel that the Nikon Z7 is better. So if you already have Canon glass then it is good addition and I would recommend to stay with the Canon line, and if not then check the Nikon.
