I would have given this 5 stars but the camera kit does not come with an SD card so you can not use the camera right out of the box..

Was a semi good camera for beginners but too expensive for the quality. There are some good features but id recommend this camera for people who are professional and not just starting. I ended up returning this because I just felt that I didn’t get what I wanted for the price.

When I first started looking at the Canon R100, I was really looking for a camera that I could take traveling, walking around town, point and shoot, but that would take high quality photos. Did it deliver on all things? The first thing that I want to talk about is the size and weight. This camera is SO light and very compact. It is so easy to throw in a backpack and walk around all day. I wanted something that I could take on a day on the trails hiking or in town for some cool pictures, but that wasn’t going to weigh me down like my Canon 5D3. But with that size and weight, you don’t sacrifice performance with the pictures and video. The second thing that I want to talk about is ease of use of the camera. No matter if you want to point and shoot in auto or venture into the manual modes and have a little fun, it is just like any other Canon I have used. Everything works just like my 5D3 and it allowed me the ability to get what I wanted out of the picture. The other great feature to this camera is the Bluetooth and Wifi capabilities. You can take a picture, immediately upload it to your phone, and start editing on the go. I love the immediate gratification of driving home after a shoot and starting the editing process of a picture that you love. No computers, SD card readers, or wires to hassle with. The camera came with a 18-55 lens that took really quality portrait pictures. The quality, bokeh, focal length are all great for a point and shoot camera. It is very slim and compact, but I felt took really good photos for a beginner lens. One note on this, you will have to buy only the mirrorless lenses, UNLESS you have the converter for other lenses. So those of you who shoot Canon already, just a note that you will have to buy the adapter for your old lenses. After shooting with the Canon R100, I would recommend it for a great starter and travel camera. Its compact size, light weight, good price, and Bluetooth and Wi-Fi capabilities, it makes the perfect camera for getting you into and keeping you in taking photos!

The camera was loose in the box and was missing the battery and the lens, when I took it back they wanted a stocking fee. However, after calling Corporate, they are allowing me to return without a stocking fee.

    Affordable Yet Capable Canon!

This is definitely an upgrade to all of the older digital cameras I have had! The most recent digital camera had 16MP and my current mobile phone has 12MP. I am not an expert at photography I am definitely a beginner when it comes to the skill of taking pictures. This camera is perfect for me and not at all complicated. Moreover, at the same time it makes me feel like I am a professional photographer with great quality pictures! The Canon EOS R100 is a mirrorless camera with a 24.1 MP resolution and a 1,040,000 pixel display which is quite amazing for me! It has a continuous shooting speed of 6 frames per second and a light sensitivity of 25,600 ISO. It also has a max view angle of 74.3 degrees and a height of 3.4 inches. It has multiple exposure modes including program, automatic, manual, aperture-priority, shutter-priority, and bulb. I'm still getting used to having that many options for modes; who doesn't want to have endless options? It also has multiple white balance presets including fluorescent, tungsten, daylight, shade, cloudy, and flash. It has multiple connection types including USB, HDMI, and microphone. Another great feature is that it also has wireless connectivity including Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. You can download the app to register your canon and utilize this feature. The Canon EOS R100 is very easy to use! It's affordable yet capable; it creates great quality images. The only cons are that it is not a touchscreen but it isn't a big deal. Also, no crop and no dual pixel in 4K and limited ISO sensitivity. Overall, great camera for beginners like myself! The more I utilize it the more I learn about it's great features and I'm enjoying every bit of it!

Bought this as a starter for a friend. After reviewing other cameras and the specs on this one. Come to find that a cell phone can take better pics and videos. Returned before opening to get full refund. Recommend doing homework before buying this model and look into spendinv a few more dollars and upgrade

The video features of this camera are practically non-existent. It is 4K, but only 24fps, and no image stabilization. As a still camera, the viewfinder is dim and useless. You need to use the screen on the back. I wanted a camera that would be an improvement over the iPhone 14 Pro’s built-in camera, and at hundreds of dollars, this isn’t it.

I have an active tax exemption account with best buy. They say they don't know how to apply the exemption in store. I had to buy it online and ask for tax refund. I make phone calls, I write emails, live chat.... but nothing. A bif company scamming people put of their money.

    Excellent entry level camera

I've been an amateur photographer for 15+ years and it's really great how much entry level cameras have improved over the years. Canon has fully fleshed out their RF mirrorless line and this camera makes a great beginner camera or secondary body/travel camera. These R series cameras use the new RF mount and new mirrorless technology as opposed to the legacy SLR cameras of the past which were slower and more primitive, especially at the entry level price point. Do yourself a favor and skip over the Rebel SLR and T series SLR's and get an R100 or R50 to get the new mirrorless tech and more future oriented system and much more user friendly photo taking experience. The photo quality out of this R100 is virtually identical to more expensive cameras. It also has many of the same advanced autofocus functions of the more expensive cameras, but the speed and controls are slimmed down for the lower price. Out of the box the menu system of the R100 is designed for beginners with friendly tutorials on various functions. You can also configure it to a more traditional canon style menu system if you'd like to skip the tutorials. The biggest leap forward of the R100 vs the entry level SLR's such as the T7 is the vastly improved autofocus for live-view and video. With this camera you are getting eye detection and object tracking as well as smooth focusing in video. The included 18-45 kit lens is also nice for the size and price. It collapses in for smaller travel as well. The OLED viewfinder is nice on this camera, similar to the (now discontinued) M50. To keep the price point down, the R100 forgoes a touch screen and a flip screen, higher speed continuous shooting as well as 4k video and more advanced physical controls on more advanced cameras. It also cannot be charged via USB-C which is unfortunate. You have to use the external battery charger. The more expensive cameras therefore may be worth considering if you're into 4k video, action shooting and want more physical controls. But for a beginner looking to learn photography the R100 is a great starting point and if you buy full frame RF lenses they would be compatible with any upgrade you might move to should you become more invested in the hobby or profession later. If you want to use EF lenses on this, just get the canon EF-RF lens adapter.
