Buyer Beware of purchasing from Best Buy. I have always loved Best Buy and felt like they had to get things going with high-end electronic products, which is why I come here for them and not a competitor. However, after purchasing this camera and lens set for around $1000 all it arrived at my house today in an oversized box, 4 times the size of the camera box with one piece of flat bubble wrap sitting in the box. The box was crushed, not entirely Best Buy's fault, but a smaller box and suitable packing material would have fixed this. So now I have a $1000 camera and lenses that have banged around in box, with no guarantee it will be working when the recipient of the gift opens them under the tree. SHAME ON YOU, Best Buy, you are a niche brand. If you want that to continue to survive in the electronic world, fix your QC regarding packaging. You are selling expensive electronics, treat them with care, it is all you have going for you. My camera box was not properly packaged and I will most likely return the item and seek an alternative source. The next one from another source could not possibly be shipped worse.

Amazing little camera I can’t explain how incredible this camera is it just for me for an everyday taking photos. If you’re getting into photography and just want a great start this is the way to go or if you don’t want to spend crazy and love photography this little but Mighty is a great camera I did the kit but I would highly recommend getting just the body and spend on the lens that fits you best I love the lens that comes with it but I did a little more research and found some amazing lenses as well I recently just picked up the 35mm I can’t wait to get it to take my beautiful pictures on my trip. Just remember tho it’s not the lenses it’s the wonderful photography behind the camera capturing get photos :)

I have been using the Canon R50 and I honestly love it. I am still learning photography, and this camera makes everything feel smooth and simple. The setup guide walks you through every step in a clear way, so even if you are new like me, it makes sense right away. A lot of the features are explained on screen, which helps you understand what each setting does as you go. What also helped me is the number of reviews and YouTube videos available for the R50. There is so much content out there that it makes learning a lot easier. If I get stuck or I want to learn something new, I can look it up fast and apply it immediately on the camera. I recently bought a couple new lenses including the RF 50mm f 1.2 and the RF 50mm f 1.4. Both lenses work great on the R50. The images come out sharp, the background blur looks clean, and the autofocus reacts fast. It makes portraits look professional without needing a lot of experience. The R50 is also lightweight, easy to carry, and comfortable to use for long shoots. I like the touchscreen, the way the menu is organized, and how quickly I can switch between photo and video. Overall this camera is perfect for someone who is starting out or growing their photography skills. It performs well, it teaches you as you go, and it keeps the whole process fun instead of complicated.

I usually research things to a ridiculous degree before purchasing, and apparently I did not research this one enough. Having been a photographer back in the early 80's, and having used 35mm cameras and lenses, I was basing my needs on that. I did not realize that the fact that this crops the sensor that my historical use of 50mm as a standard doesn't equate to this. You have to multiply the numbers by 1.6 to get the effective focal length. So my buying this so I could get good wide angle shots with the included lenses only showed my ignorance. In order to get what I want, I'm going to have to splurge for a pricey lens. I will, eventually though, since I like the camera despite my goof. The size is perfect for me. Having always used full sized 35mm film cameras in the past, this really does feel light and easy to use comparatively. The one complaint I see people having most often is the grip. They feel it's too small. I didn't have that issue, but I was only using the two lenses that came with it. I did ultimately buy a cage for it which expanded on the grip and there is a huge difference now, so if you're using some serious lenses, there is a cheap option to protect this and offer a lot of expandability for accessorizing as well as the better grip. I'm still just starting to get back into the hobby, so I'm not digging that deeply into all the manual options yet, but there are plenty there for just about any level of photographer. And the auto options for beginners make this an easy transition for people used to nothing more than smart phones. Results are stellar. Crisp even with motion, and while I'm feeling the lack of wide angle results out of the box until I buy a real wide angle lens, everything else is great for the other uses of the lenses. The autofocus is amazing, and if you're doing any kind of product reviews and vlogging, the focus options are absolutely top notch. The pop up flash is convenient for people who are used to phones as well, but the hot shoe offers better options for people who really need to go beyond. There is a lot to like here for anyone interested in stepping up their photography game.

Great beginner friendly camera. Different modes with instructions. Easy to use and stock lenses offers decent quality photos. I use it for sports videography. Battery life is great. I spent 3-5 hours at basketball tournaments and have not experienced issues with overheating, yet. The Auto mode has been super handy when I'm unsure about what settings to use. Overall, the camera is great starter for someone coming into photography.

This camera is fantastic. I’m a beginning but you wouldn’t know from the photos I’ve taken! Easy to use, lightweight. I’d get the package with 2 lenses since you can’t do too much with the shorter lens alone.
