Fantastic Upgrade from 12 year old DSLR

Long overdue upgrade from a Sony a390. Camera is leaps and bounds better than my former setup. It's small size took me by surprise. Auto Focus is quiet. Picture taking is quieter (less moving parts due to no mirrors). Took this to the Grand Canyon over New Years and captured some amazing photos. The ones that were not so great are 100% user error. It's small size and light weight didn't leave me wishing I had left it at home. The stock lens in this kit is a bit underwhelming. The manual focus ring is easy to bump when adjusting zoom. If you have big hands like I do, the small size takes a bit to get the hang of. It's easy to mash buttons in error. Start saving for an upgraded lens. The 24mm-105mm is on my list.

Canon - EOS R50 4K Video Mirrorless Camera Review

The Canon EOS R50 is an impressive addition to Canon’s mirrorless family. It's capable of capturing stunning 4K videos, making it an ideal pick for videographers. With a sleek design, it's comfortable to hold and easy to use. The autofocus is snappy and reliable, and the selection of lenses available for this mount is growing. However, while the image quality is excellent, the camera falls slightly short for professional photographers seeking the absolute best in image detail. Battery life is decent but could be improved. Pros: Excellent 4K video capture Fast and reliable autofocus Expanding lens selection User-friendly interface Cons: Image quality, though good, may not satisfy some professionals Battery life could be better The EOS R50 is an excellent choice for aspiring videographers or photographers looking for a feature-packed camera at a competitive price.

I use this camera almost every day; and it’s never let me down. The smart features in it are super easy to use. For more advanced users it’s also got everything you need. I love the camera connect app, so I can easily transfer the photos directly to my phone

This is a great little camera. They market it as an entry level mirrorless but it's so powerful you can do anything with it. The kit lens is garbage and has virtually no low light capability. I have the 50 1.8 (nifty fifty) on it now and it makes all the difference. great video also

as a beginner Photographer/Videographer i think this is a great camera. It allows me to shoot in 4k video take high quality photos and learn the basics of photography and cinematography while doing so! I also think with all the information ive been learning that this camera can take you beyond just a beginner camera and can be very useful as an intermediate camera as well.

Easy to use out of the box. Great video, and zero complaints there. The audio tries too hard on auto and gets hissy as a result. I'd use a mic or alternate audio source if you need quality.
