Excellent entry to mirrorless camera

Owned for 1 month when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I went with the R50 because it had a lot of the features of the more expensive Canon mirrorless cameras while still being an affordable entry point (on sale, anyway). I like the movable touchscreen quite a lot and so far I think mirrorless is the way to go. My only gripe about this is the new RF mount system. I would have loved it if these kept the EF mount, but I suppose I get it.

Great entry-level camera.

The only times I've used a camera, I had no idea what I was doing. To be honest, I still don't, but this camera makes it easy to learn. The kit lens is okay, I ended up buying a 50mm prime lens, which I find fantastic. For someone who is new to the camera world, this has been a pleasure to use. Would recommend.

Eventually, I decided to give it a try. After putting it to the test, I was satisfied and no longer in the pressure of figuring out what camera to buy and if it would meet my needs.

Great product-active recall for mode dial breaking

I bought one a year ago and i had just started a shoot when i was changing modes and the mode dial broke off completely. I contacted Canon and they had it fixed & shipped back to me, completely free of charge, within 2 weeks.

Canon R50 for beginners

Before this camera, i had a T7 and 80D. I would chose the R50 any day of the week over those.
