I bought the camera and an optional 55-25-mm f/4-5.6 Telelphoto Zoom Lens for taking action shots inside a gym. I am thoroughly satisfied with the ease of operation and quality of the pictures that the camera provides. I would recommend this camera to anyone regardless of your experience level.

Camera takes great pictures in auto mode and no flash auto mode for those who may not be as experienced and those who may not want to think about every shot. Have gotten beautiful pics at a wedding, outdoors, and at the zoo. Have not used all modes yet, but so far everything has worked great.

I bought this after my 5D MkII was stolen from my car. While I don't expect this camera to replace that $3000 camera it has been impressive. What you get is a DSLR in same size as the mirrorless cameras, and in comparison to those cameras the SL1 wins emphatically. You get a real optical view finder, interchangable lenses and a DSLR size sensor. You also get all the latest DSLR features that my 5d did not have, notably the excellent video mode with auto focus. Picture quality is excellent when shooting RAW (not jpg), autofocus is quick and the handling is good for such a small camera. The noise control could be better, however I am used to a full frame camera which will always be better. I also purchased the 40mm STM lens, I thought the focal length would be odd on a crop sensor however it is very usable and it is a very sharp lens. The camera body and this lens can fit in a large coat pocket. Canon has done a great job with this camera.

I was hesitant, since I didn't think that an SLR should be this light and small, but I'm sold! The photos are beautiful and the touch screen couldn't be more helpful!

Has all the features that most people would want to have for a digital SLR, and is extremely light and easy to handle. Especially good for people with smaller hands or unsteady grip. Good starter camera since there are so many Canon original and compatible accessories on the market that can be added to expand the capabilities.

The camera was a gift for my 12 year old daughter and a family camera. It takes great pictures and is very user friendly. We got two lenses for it one for sports and one for regular pictures. She loves the camera and it does everything we wanted it to as well. I would recommend it to anyone who has kids and needs a family camera. Thank You, Scott P.

I have always been a canon fan, but this camera is amazing! Love the smaller size body that still takes the same great photos.

Very nice camera for beginner or someone with small hands. Much lighter and smaller than regular DSLR, which makes it easier to carry around and carry on with you on trips. This little camera produces very nice pictures (once paired with a nicer lens).

this is my first "real" camera and it is great. Very easy to use the automatic settings and fun to play with the manual ones.

Glad I made the decision to buy this camera. The size is perfect, not to bulky and the pictures have a big difference from my point and shoot. I have pictures of my kids that I know I wouldn't of captured with my phone or my old camera. That alone makes up for the price.

I have been very pleased with this camera thus far. Being a relatively new photographer, I have found the camera very easy to use. There are a wide variety of manual settings to utilize. The ISO performance is fantastic and a huge upgrade from our prior camera. The quality of the photos produced thus far from this camera have been fantastic.

Lightweight, fully functional for amateurs and easy to use. Photos come out terrific and I am thrilled with my new purchase. I am very pleased with the product I choose and I intend to keep it for many, many years.

I am by no means a photographer but when I use this camera the pictures that I get always look like I am one. This camera is small so when I take my kids to the park I can carry it around with out feeling dragged down by a big and heavy camera. I am so glad that I have this camera.
