This has to be the best camera for an amateur photcgrapher. It is very easy to use and takes great pictures and movie quality videos. It is really compact and not bulky.

Just tried digital, having always used 35mm Canon 630. What a great experience. It has rekindled my excitement for my hobby. Also my zoom for the EOS 630 works with the T3i!

This camera is great for taking pictures of anyone playing sports. Our daughter is in softball and we get some great action photos with great outdoor color and clarity.

I am a first time user if this kind of camera. I was easily able to start using and have no issues with this camera.

Don't buy this camera with the intent to use it as a video camera. Multiple times, the camera stopped recording abruptly (with notice that it stopped) interrupting the video capture of the event I was recording. I looked in related forums and found that it is a common problem. I've tried all of the fixes and use a Class 10 card, but it still occurs. I do recommend the camera for photos. The auto mode takes care of everything for you and there are plenty of creative modes to cover most situations. The only recommendation I would have for Canon is to make the AF points/circle in the viewfinder easier to see. Even though I have made the applicable dioptric adjustment, when shooting against a dark subject, it is difficult to center the shot quickly.
