I bought it for my son to learn how to take photo. This is a good entry level camera. For a beginner, it can be used as a point-and-shoot. It also provide all kind of features that he can learn to take all kind of pictures. I bought the T3 at the beginning from other company but it failed right out of the box. I think they gave me a failed return product. I returned it and get the T3i from Best buy. It has better qualify and the T3 look cheap. T3i look more professional. Customer service is great. I had the store manager answering my questions at door side regarding warranty and show me where to get to the camera section. That was a not supposed to be busy morning, but there are a few people waiting for a sale associate for help. After waiting for 10 minutes, I got help from a sale and he is really friendly, provide all information I need but not over sale. I asked for a price match and he checked and call store manager to grant the price match right the way. All in all, this is a good shopping experience that I usually received from Best buy.

I purchased this camera in February 2012 and it has been WONDERFUL! And I will brag on Canon's warranty department...they're WONDERFUL! I use this camera for mainly family and my children's candid photographs. I love the shots that only us mother's can get like a sleepy head falling over whilst eating or playing in the yard. This camera is so easy to use and perfect for those who want to upgrade from a point-and-shoot but not yet ready to commit to a pro DSLR.

This is an easy-to-use DSLR camera. It's features make it simple for anyone to take great, quality photos. My photos are no longer all out of focus and I have great pictures of my very active 1 year old little girl.

I received this camera as an early Christmas present to replace my old Olympus digital SLR. I have to say, I'm extremely happy with it. I've been playing around with it taking some different shots and the results are fantastic! I even tried taking pictures last night when it was dark with the only light coming from my computer monitor and using the flash from the camera. I was totally amazed at the clarity of the pictures.

Very nice camera for the price. A huge step up from our Cool Pix, even though we liked that camera, too. Lots of features for different lighting, etc. Can't wait to use the camera on vacation.

This camera whilst an SLR is still relatively easy to use and understand for a beginner. IT takes great pictures and has enough features to create effects etc. Thoroughly recommend it and a great price as well.

I chose to buy the T3i primary because of its price advantage point. It nearly the same as the T5i or the 60D in picture quality yet it's about half the price. That being said, the picture quality is absolutely amazing. The camera is very intuitively set up and it's very easy to learn if this is your first DSLR. There are two short coming that this camera has in terms of taking pictures; the small amount of auto focus points and the high ISO performance. This camera only has 1 cross type AF point and 9 total focus points. If there's a lot going on in an image, sometimes 9 points just isn't enough. That's a small nit pick though. The ISO performance is a bigger issue. I found that the highest ISO that still delivers a decent picture is ISO 800. At ISO 1600, you start to see some noise, although the picture is still usable. I know several other cameras that can deliver a clean image at ISO 1600. Canon could have done a better job at this. However, you can just use a faster lens to avoid that problem. Lastly, the biggest let down is video mode. Although the T3i has a built in focus motor, there is no auto focus in video mode. Manually focusing with a kit lens is pointless as it doesn't have a distance meter and the focusing ring is noisy. I guess the T3i is great if you want to just make a YouTube video but it's not so great if there's a lot of movement. I'm primarily comparing this feature to an equally priced Nikon DSLR which does have auto focus in video. Overall, I love this camera for it's picture quality and that's all that matters to me. Learn to shoot in full manual mode and you will receive some impressive products. I would definitely say that this is worth the price!

Easy to use so great for someone new to a professional camera. Perfect camera to learn and experment with. However it can take High quality photos easily on the automatic setting. Battery life is good and takes great pictures in low light.

I have always been interested in photography but have never taken a class. I read some positive reviews about the Canon Rebel series, so decided on this one to start. It is amazing! I had zero knowledge about anything photography related before, and now I feel comfortable with a real camera. I was nervous when I first opened the box, because it looks a little intimidating, but the manual was very helpful. I like that there are so many options for the settings of the camera; as I get better and more fluent with photography I can use the more advanced options, but there is also an auto option to start off easy. I know that I am no where near understanding all aspects of the camera yet; every time I use it I learn something new about it. It was a great buy and I am very happy with it. The pictures come out so clear, and with the different settings I can take some really nifty shots that I never knew I could take! I think this is a really good camera for beginners.

Hubby bought this camera for me as an early birthday present and what a fantastic present it is!! The picture quality is outstanding, even in low light, it's almost like it refuses to take a bad picture! I haven't taken too many pictures as yet, but I look forward to learning to use all the features that it has to really improve my picture taking skills. This is a great camera for a beginner like me but I think whatever your skills are the camera is user friendly and the great price at Best Buy really makes it a good deal.

I have only had this camera for a month and with all the options the learning curve is steep. But the layout is functional, logical and easy to learn. The eye-level pentamirror is adjustable so you need not use your eye glasses. Also the LED viewfinder angle adjustment is very convenient, although I cannot see it in sunlight. I've always been a fan of canon lens' and the clarity of the EF lens is impressive. The standard package comes with a 5.6 and it would be nice to come with a faster lens. There is an adapter that will allow you to use the old FD lens in manual mode. This is a big plus for me. I definitely recommend getting an extra battery ( I did not). You will drain one on a shoot lasting more than a couple of hours, but that will be a lot of photos. Enjoy your new Canon, I am loving mine.

I have been doing some research for a while now looking to get a DSLR and I talked with alot of people who had Canon and Nikon to hear what they had to say. After looking at the products I felt the Canon T3i was the best choice for me and it has been a great decision. I first used the camera at a high school graduation and the easy to use selection for settings was incredible. I have received so many comments on the pictures I have taken that some of my friends thought I hired a photographer. I still haven't reached the potential of this camera but I am pleased with I can do now. Will be joining a photographer group to learn more and take advantage of all the features of the camera.

I absolutely love this camera. I purchased it for my girlfriend this past Christmas (2014) and we have been playing with the camera constantly. We are professionals whatsoever - and still take pretty bad shots - but we are in love with the camera and getting better at using it. So far, everything from the different settings to the quality of the photos, this camera really does it all. An absolute must have and/or no brainer for any beginners out there looking for a long-lasting, beautiful camera.

This camera is awesome. Very easy to use and operate. The features are easy to set up. I love being able to set custom functions. I moved up from the Canon T3 and the pictures are sharper. I shoot gymnastics in low light and the camera can handle it beautifully.
