Great entry level camera

You do get a lot more noise doing night photography than you do with the Nikkon equivalent. Its also not the best at its price range for shooting indoor sports. As long as you are dealing with well lit subjects, it is amazing.

Nice Camera

The biggest issue she had in the past with point and shoot cameras is the time it took to focus. We have two small children, and she constantly missed the shot she wanted due to the delay from when she pressed the button to when the camera took the picture. That delay is minimized with a DSLR. My biggest complaint is that I wanted the T4i model (bought the T3i), but Best Buy couldn't sell it to me, even though they had three of these locked up in their case. My understanding is this was due to Canon not allowing them to sell it anymore. I completely don't understand this, as it was $150 more, so both Best Buy and Canon lost money on the transaction.

I do wish it was touch screen as I keep trying to touch the screen but besides that I have no complaints...
