I just purchased the T3i which is a upgrade from my Xti... This camera is fantastic.. You can use the live view as well which will be great for macro .. other than for me personally I will use the viewfinder mainly cause that is what I am use to doing. Still the live view will be handy to have and use. The handling of the camera is easy and comfortable. If you are already use Canon SLR's you will find this camera to just as easy to find your way around.. and the on screen detail will be great for beginners so you know what the settings offer.. BUT you will still have to make adjustments for your settings.. The screen is just a description of the modes you so keep that in mind.. As for the ones like myself that are use to the camera already it is basically the same as all others.. I looked at the 6 and 7D's and read so many articles my eyes were crossed on the information and the do and don't have's between the camera's .. and in the end I went with this camera .. You are getting features from 2 other fantastic cameras and then the added details of this camera and the price is cheaper and the 18mp is there and the flip viewfinder and the ability to use live view as well.. It was compatible with my flash from the Xti which was a bonus as well. I personally found no draw backs with the camera so far.

Can do almost everything. Looks super professional with the right lens. Not full frame but I don't care.

excellent quality for pictures and video making other than autofocusing video making. Camera will single shot auto focus, but you have to manual focus from there. Not ideal if you making movies of yourself and moving other objects. Wanted to make movies for you tube while showing products. Moving objects towards camera would not auto focus. Other than that, excellent product

The camera has similar controls to the original 35mm camera, film speed, aperture, shutter speed, ect.

Little pricey for quality, but good for teenager starting out on SLR.

Overall I am happy with my purchase. I am a novice photographer and I think this is a good place to start.

For a armature photographer this is a great camera. As a soccer dad its a great action sports camera..

Small compacy camera. Needs better lens for beginer to learn with. Battery life should be longer.
