    Great first DSLR

This is my first DSLR and I'd recommend it for anyone's first. I've only had it for 1 week and I'm pretty used to the buttons, how to focus the lens, etc. The price wasn't bad for a DSLR but it could have a Tiny bit better picture quality. When you zoom in close to the photograph it still has a bit of graininess. I can't wait to upgrade to the Canon 7D! The quality is much more clear. The only other thing that I don't like about this camera is the battery life is very short. I am buying a second battery to carry around in my bag. It would be bad if you were at a shoot or event and ran out of battery... My overall review is that I would recommend this to a beginner!

Purchased this camera to take large family re-union pictures, and it exceeded my expectations for picture quality. Everyone was amazed at the skin tones and the flexibilty of settings. I highly recomend that you try all or most of the settings. Be patiant if you have never owned an slr its a steep learning curve compared to point and shoot cameras. The AUTO function probably took the worst pictures...so I recomend you read the manual and watch videos online. Battery will last you well over 1000 pictures. Did I mention its eye-fi ready. Just buy an eye-fi sd card and send pictures instantly to your phone or laptop!

It had been 10 years since I bought a good camera. My Sony DSC-F717 finally died. So, the features of this camera for the price (not much more than the Sony) blew me away. I really love the "P" setting where I can take low-light pics. It adjusts the shutter speed and aperture to take the best pic it can, rather than complain. Of course, you can still end up with blur doing this but sometimes it adds to the affect. My only gripe is that sometimes when the view screen is open, there is a long delay after I press the button. It never happens when I switch to the viewfinder. I got the whole bundle, with an additional 55 - 250mm telephoto lens, the Lowepro All Weather bag--great bag--16GB memory stick and an HDMI cable. I hope to get at least 10 years out of this one! -D

This is truly a great deal. Simple, easy to understand and use, yet complex enough for anyone who wants it to be. It's just as easy to use the controls and options as it is to point and shoot on auto. This does have the same sensor as the other T3X series, so if you want to save some money, this is a great buy.

Great camera for filming video. Used it at a Tough Mudder race and it was great! Strongly recommend using a monopod or tripod. This is a heavier camera than an normal point and shoot. Worth a lot more too. Be smart with your expensive electronics and protect the lens with a lens cover. Photo quality was very crisp.

This is my first DSLR, and I really like this camera! It's very easy to pick up, learn and use and the picture quality is amazing. The manual was easy to understand and the actual user interface was very helpful in giving short explanations about what each function does. I quickly found myself using the Av, Tv and M modes for more creative pictures. Getting great action shots, sharp pictures with true to life colors as well as crisp black and white photos! I've had two Canon point and shoot Elphs, so I felt it was time to step up to the entry DSLR. VERY HAPPY with the purchase. I highly recommend this product if you are new to DSLR's and have been thinking about making the transition from a point and shoot.

This camera is amazing. It is the best investment I have made in awhile. I love photography and have recently had a baby so I decided to buy my own camera and take my own photos. I consider it an investment because I don't have to pay someone else to take shots of my little guy. I love the quickness of the camera, the ease of use and the price was in my range. This camera takes crystal clear pictures on all settings. I love the options you have within the camera and the fact that it also has a video HD recorder. It's a two in one! I am now a Canon fan!

This Canon has a unique viewfinder that allows multiple positions - it is why I bought this version instead of the newer model - while the newer model may have a few more bells and whistles, the flexibility this viewfinder is worth getting the older camera - oh yeah - the camera is darn good too.

I have used this camera for professional quality photographs and cinematic video shoots. It has already done everything I have asked of it and more. Image quality is good, but a lens upgrade can upgrade the quality a little more.

I have not bought a new digital camera for a while so I did a lot of comparisons. The only problems I have had with this camera have been user (me) oriented. It is easy to use and has a easy to understand interface. I was impressed with all of the features it has and recommend reading the manual. The video is good although it picks up wind noise if you do not turn on the dampener. For the same price I could have got a camera with a slightly higher Megapixel but it would not have the flexible viewing screen. I have found that to be a useful feature more than once. I would say that without spending $300-500 more you can not find a better camera.

I got a great deal on this through Best Buy's Father's Day Sale, but even regularly priced you are getting a bang for your buck. I really wanted a full frame camera but those are really pricey. The thing about the T3i is the video quality is amazing and so are the images. There are hundreds of lenses you can buy that turn the camera into a beast!
