    Fantastic mid-level camera!

This camera has everything anyone who wants to turn photography into a hobby could ever want. If you're new to the game or only plan on doing it for fun, this should be where you stop. Don't spend a penny more because this camera has EVERY feature you're ever going to use, and likely a few extra. I had purchased the t2i a couple of weeks ago and fell in love the first time I pulled it out of the box. I took it to the Caribbean on vacation and got some amazing photos. It was fast and I suddenly became the "trip photographer" as nobody else's camera could compare. I chose to upgrade upon coming back because I was having difficulty taking certain pictures because of the screen being flat and built into the camera. The new swivel lens is worth a lot if you plan on being "creative" with angles in your photos. Further, the t3i allows you to choose which size photos you want to take. If you want to take "wide-screen" 16x9 as you only plan on viewing them on your computer or HDTV, then you can choose to take pictures to fill the screen. In order to do this on the t2i, you have to post-picture crop it to that size. This is a great feature as most people will only view these photos on their HDTV or PC. If you're into HD video, this camera does full 1080p very well. The t3i excels in that it has "stereo" audio. The t2i only has single channel audio. It does make a small difference. The swivel screen will also make a huge difference if you plan on doing more than small video clips. It also has a few other filters and post-picture internal processing features. I'm really glad I took the t3i back as the swivel screen is the biggest difference to me. You may find this isn't worth the $150 street price difference right now, but I did. The pictures look identical as the image processor is the same. It's a features game. You'll be incredibly happy with either the t2i or the t3i. They are more or less the same camera with the t3i having a few extra features that will come in handy!

Needed for video, got amazing pics as well!

I needed a good camera to shoot indoor video and after trying 2 camcorders, someone at BestBuy suggested this camera. I was a little bit concerned because my main need was video and I was going to buy a manual Canon camera later this year (I enjoy photography and decided that I would invest in a more professional camera). But the guy talked about this camera so well that I decided to give it a try. In the worst scenario, I'd have to return it. On the best scenario, I would have both the video and photo quality I wanted, for $399. And I can only say this: it is amaaaazing! The video is great, by far the best one I ever tried. The pictures, incredible. There is such a great zoom I can take pics of whatever I want even if I'm far (which I already did and the quality don't drop as I expected for using all the zoom). Also, the guy told me that I wasn't able to take photo with blur background, that the camera doesn't have this feature (I almost didn't buy it because of this). But it has!!! So the picture really looks like it was taken from a more expensive camera like the Rebel series. Really really happy with the purchase!

3rd camera owend, 1st DSLR. We love it

I have owned only point-and-shoot's my whole life. I wanted to upgrade our camera in order to document our twins early childhood and did not want to spend a fortune on portrait pictures when i could do them myself. I shopped around for a better price, but it seemed that $750 was pretty standard for this camera, plus the cost of a bag, memory card and extra battery (which we didnt really need at the time). This camera has been nothing but wonderful. If you have very basic knowledge of photography, you will excel with this camera. If you do not, there are many sights such as pintrest and other googled sightes that explain in detail what each setting does and how to set the camera up for optimum performance. My wife is happy because they have several settings that allow her to just point the camera at the target and take a picture. It will autofocus if you require it, or you can focus it yourself and take pics. Overall we are very happy with this camera. It will take a little more practice to work with the advanced settings. So i will stick with the auto focus settings and am very happy with the quality of pictures i am getting. Very easy to transfer pics from camera to computer.

Went from a point and shoot to this T3i and WOW!! Why have I been using a point and shoot for so long?!?!? This camera is so easy to use and the photo quality is right up there with higher priced cam's. You'll love it once you decide to buy it. Heck just use the 18 month no interest like I did, you'll have it paid off in no time! Enjoy

Great camera. Good weight and size. Lots of grip and solid structure. Fantastic image sensors. Pictures come out super crisp. Easy to find add ons for. Lots of effects like fish eye, soft light, and toy camera. Swivel LCD screen makes all the difference when making videos. Videos are super clear and do like 1080 HD

I love this camera! I've always had Canons, so when I decided to upgrade to a DSLR this camera was an easy choice. As I was already familiar with Canons, it was SO easy to pick and learn - even before reading the manual. It has great features, and the in-screen tips help me make sure I'm using the right settings. Picture quality is amazing. I have been thrilled with this camera, my only regret is not buying it sooner!

I did not buy this for taking pictures, but as a video camera for movies. This thing works GREAT! The depth of field is amazing, the colors bright, or you can set a user preference to wash out the colors, set to 24 fps and it looks like a feature film. The iso and aperture rates are easy to understand. A REALLY nice feature. If you do use this for films, you can get a Nexus 7, cheap but GOOD tablet, download the CANON app, $7.99, for DSLR controller, buy an "On THE GO" usb adaptor, about 2 bucks, and you can use the Nexus 7 as an all function touch screen inexpensive field monitor. Saves BIG money. And when I do make a film, I have the luxury of filming and using it as a picture camera. BEST purchase to date. HIGHLY recommended. Last part. Lens can be expensive, but you can buy an FD lens adaptor for about $12 go on ebay and buy a ton of nice, though older, lens for about 1/4 of the new lens prices. ENJOY

Best Camera for the step up

I have always like taking pictures, and was always told I take really good pictures. For father's day my wife bought me the rebel T3i, best camera I have ever got. She also bought the HOW TO dvd for it I have watched it twice, and I would say it is a must it isn't very expensive like $20 but it teaches how to use this camera in no time. Within minutes I was take pro like pictures and haven't looked back. I was going to return it for the T4i but the only real thing that changed was the WiFi, I don't have a problem pulling the card out though so I don't need to spend the extra $300, the T3i has pro like pictures without the cost. I can not express how awesome this camera is, and put with the protection plan I don't have to be scared of taking it everywhere. Youtube this camera watch the reviews, you can't go wrong!! I have a 6 year old that is always on the move, doesn't matter I can always catch him on the move.

I purchased this as a slight upgrade from my T1i, and love the added features. The tilt/swivel screen is great, and I especially like that you can store the screen facing the camera body to avoid scratches. I intend to start doing more video work, but haven't used video much yet. I also like the ease of using an EyeFi card to wirelessly download images.

I am loving this camera. Bought as a Christmas gift from me to me with a little help from my wife. This camera works great so far and takes amazing pictures. I love the quick response I get when I take a pic. It a great entry level camera for people looking to break into the world of DSLR. Lots of great features and fairly easy to use out of the box. I have a lot to learn about is capabilities but I look forward to the challenge. My only regret is that I didn't get into DSLR camreas sooner. There's no turning back now though. Excellent bagain at $650 with the bundle that included a zoom lens, sd card, camera bag and lens cleaner.

    Good Camera for a Newbie

This is my 1st DSL camera and I got it for a great price at Best Buy. I got the bundle with Camera, bag, extra zoom lens, and SD card. It took awhile to figure how to attach the lens. You have to line up the white dots, and it will snap in. Then I had to figure how to pop up the flash. The flash won't pop up manually if it's in the auto setting. You have to move the dial into one of the manual settings. The flash with pop up automatically if the light is low. Even with my limited knowledge with DSL, I took good pics. Some were blirred, so I know I still have a lot to learn. But I'm happy with this camera and know I will have many fun days out taking pics. It's a good camera for a beginner and it will grow with you. It has many features I still have to learn to use.

This is my first DSLR camera. I moved up from a point and shoot. This camera is very easy to use. The flip screen is a great feature. I have taken approx. 300 pictures with the camera and it takes great pictures. I bought the camera to take pictures of my children playing sports. I needed a camera that would take action shots without the blurry picture, of the person in motion. I have used the video feature several times and was never impressed with the results. I will stick to still photographs and leave the video to my video camera.

I purchased this camera so that I can do youtube videos. I love how it shoots and I think that more people should know about this. I still haven't learned to use everything on it yet but I am looking forward to when I do. I was shocked at how light it was. It does have some weight but not as much as I though it would.

I bought this camera as an amateur photographer and I absolutely LOVE it! The features are great and very user friendly. The user guide that accompanies it is full of helpful information. I am still learning about this camera and all the features it has to offer. However, I would recommend a Canon to anyone who asked what they should purchase. Day, night, close-up or far away, this camera has it all!

I spent quite a lot of money on this camera but it was well worth it. The picture quality is great and so is the video. I am very happy with this ready to use-out of box camera. I highly recommend it to any one both beginning photography and already in the field.

I am by no means a photographer but the way the pictures come out I might be able to fool someone. The pictures are so clear and the color is perfect. I love the different settings and the screen that moves is just an added benefit. I have previous lenses for a film Canon camera and I love how the lenses are compatible with the DSLR. I love Canon. My friend has a Nikon and I think the Canon is much better. I haven't tried the video feature yet.

I was a big Minolta 7000 Maxxum shooter for years then I purchased a small Digital Canon for business travel and slowly found myself using it for everything, but still missed the old SLR handling, options for photo's and quality. So finally broke down and purchased this based on the reviews and I have not been sorry for one minute. The swing out and reversible display is a must and really glad I spent the extra to have it. I am not a big tech guy but I do know how to take a great picture and this camera does it all. The only drawback is, the auto focus in video mode is noisy - this is the same in all the camera's I tried regardless of manufacture, however manual focus for this works great or you can always add an external mic to solve the problem. All in all after looking around and my past experience with Canon this is one great camera. My advice --- wait for a package sale with the Stabilized Zoom lens and buy it. You will be glad you did.

I'm an art student and this is a great camera especially for my field. Quality wise it is great, it's my first camera I own so I can't compare in depth but what I know is that it is very advanced & easy to use compared to the past DSLR's that I borrowed. Highly recommended especially if you're short in budget for Canon's D60 or up.
