This is my first DSLR and second canon camera after Elan IIE. Bought this one with extra Canon f1.8/50mm fixed lense for sharp closeups and it did. Canon never disappointed me when it comes to picture quality and camera built and this time too No surprises. Setup was a breeze even for my 13 year old who configured the wifi and canon connect in no time. Picture quality is just awesome in all modes. This is more than a starter camera packed with lot of high end features. Best part is that all my exisiting Canon lenses worked like a charm and that is another reason why I choose Canon T6i over Nikon D5500. Can't really comment on the battery life yet as it is still going strong. The built is sturdy and the camera weight is just right. Its a little expansive though as compared to similar cameras like Nikon D5500 so it could be a tough choice for the first timers.

Great entry level DSLR
