This camera is a good starting point and learning curve camera but I will say the crop sensor is annoying. Go for a full frame if you can.

    Worst Camera Ever

I bought this camera less than 1 year ago for my husband. The quality was mediocre. My biggest complaint, however, is that it quit working recently. Even with a brand new, fully charged battery, the camera will not turn on. Since it is still under warranty, we mailed it back to Canon for repair. With no explanation or communication, they sent the still broken camera back to us. When my husband finally was able to speak with a representative at Canon, he was told that camera was not repairable and that they would not honor their warranty. The best they could do was offer him 20% off another camera. There is no way I would ever buy another Canon again. Poor quality products, no communication from customer service, and piece of trash warranty. I’m really surprised that Best Buy carries products like this. AVOID!!! DO NOT BUY!!!

I was transitioning to a new camera and so far I am really enjoying this camera! I am a self taught beginner and use youtube a lot for guidance as well as plenty of trial and errors! Honestly my favorite feature is the stabilizer that the smaller lens has. I look forward to taking more photos!

Bought this as a backup camera for a wedding I was filming. While it did the job I do not recommend getting it if you are a professional photographer or videographer. At the time I purchased it I was just starting out and needed something in my budget so this did the job but I now currently have a camera that I do not use and now need to sell used. Not worth it if you are working on becoming serious about your images/videos. I would suggest just spending the extra money on a M50, 6d or 5d any other mirrorless camera Canon has.

Check out cheaper options before buying this camera. In my opinion, the lenses make all the difference, and a cheaper body with nice lenses does the same job.
