I purchased this kit to take pictures and video of my son's soccer games. It has been an awesome camera. I get great action shots and great video as well. Definitely a great kit for the price.

This is not my first Canon DSLR camera, so I already knew the brand and quality I was getting. This is not a "beginner's camera," although some pundits would bill it as that. It's got a lot of perks for beginners, but a lot for the knowledgeable photographer also. When all is said and done, the camera body and lenses are *NOT* what make a good photograph - it's what you *DO* with the equipment and your creativity that's important. This camera can be that "means to an end" for your creativity without breaking the bank.
