My old tried and true 5d mkii died and I decided to try a crop sensor since I already own several lenses. Photos were "meh" with kit lens as expected but swapping over to L series glass was intention all along. That's where things got disappointing. A lot of fringing and aberration and despite moving focus point and using single mode AF and back button focus directly over eye photos were just never sharp. ISO 100 50mm @ f1.8 through f4 in tight headshot tests yielded a very soft and blurry image and I couldn't really discern the focus point. Went through settings to show focus point in review and it's there, just wouldn't hit. Shutter speeds were all over 1/250 so subject/camera movement was not culprit. Contacted tech support and indicated issue and they said it may be miscalibration or defective to send it in. Being I had time left to return I opted for refund and will be trying a 6dmkii or a used 5dmkiii, or maybe EOS R anything full frame. I'm sure this is a great camera for the price point for parents and beginners but being I do paid work on the side I really do need tack sharp and something full frame to go with my canon lenses

Great camera for a beginner or intermediate user. Canon has one of the best auto focus out there. Usable as a point and shoot in full auto mode to deciding on all the parameters in fully manual.

i love this camera. I up-graded from the t1-i and I'm so glad I did. This can be as simple or as advanced as you want it to be. It has great features that I'm still experimenting with. Love it!!

This camera is a replacement for my Canon SL1. The T7i is a little heavier but well worth. Taking pictures in low light without flash produces beautiful photos. I even recorded fireworks.

This is an upgrade from the T3i. Very good pictures in low light, and the familiar Canon menu and color profiles. The STM lens is very smooth and quite when using auto focus with video.

Had this for a little over two years now. Helps a lot with school but only downside is, the swivel touch screen display just recently started to stop working half the time. It doesn't let you tap to change iso and such while shooting a lot and it's bothersome since that's why I chose it. Other than that though, it's a great camera.

This is an entry level camera, we know that going into it. But Canon chose to leave off some very basic configuration settings that don’t allow things like “clean HDMI” for live streaming off the HDMI port. We really wanted to just use this as a high quality video camera but the HDMI port always shows the overlays on the output. Sorry Canon, going to have to return this one. It’s still a great camera for the beginner taking pictures tho.
