Bought this as a gift for my daughter-in-law. Apparently it never worked from the start and by the time she told me about it it was past the return time. Pretty bummed out she didn't even get to use it.

I bought this camera for my daughter (14) and the pics come out very dark and blurry even with the flash on, I’m disappointed because I thought the brand would offer me quality but I was wrong.

Fun little camera to have around for instant prints. The size of the photos and sticky-back are perfect for adding images to journal entries. The pictures themselves tend to have a retro look and work best if you’re shooting in bright light. Word to the wise: pay close attention to the actual framing in the view-finder. Very easy to accidentally crop out more than you meant to. Camera itself looks great and price is right!

This worked okay for a few days and then all of the photos started to have streaks on them. It was also hard to adjust vertical and horizontal pics. Not a good product.

Shutter button placement creates way too many accidental shots. Doesn’t print from phone pics, even tho it gives instructions to download app.

I like the fact that is instant and my kids like it, but I also have a mini printer from their ink cartridge competitors and the quality is higher.

Camera would not charge, this was a Christmas gift, so imagine the disappointment on Christmas when their gift would not work at all.

I had the camera for a month and it won’t print anything. I have only printed 12 pictures so far. Do not waste your money!

Instant cameras… Takes me back to the good old days. I can remember cameras spitting out that glossy, “developing” photo that we all waited on in order to see the picture we had just taken. Well, the Canon IVY Cliq camera seems to be aimed at capturing a bit of nostalgia. It is an instant photo digital camera that seems aimed at taking fun individual shots, small group photos, and selfies. Opening the Cliq served as a bit of a letdown. I was expecting the product to be a bit more substantial in weight and material. It is basically a plastic camera with very few buttons. It feels like a device that has very little value, and that’s surprising from Canon. At first glance and handle, I think this would be better served marketed towards kids. After following the very simple directions, loading the camera with the included sheets, I was ready to take pictures in a snap. That brings me to another issue with this camera – 5 megapixels. Not only that, but it has no optical zoom. You have to be very close to get a decent picture of your subject. Click the button, the flash pops, and photo taken. The Cliq actually prints the photos at a decent speed. The photo printing is really the technological strength of the camera. There is no waiting for the photo to develop. It exits the camera, fully printed/developed. Photo quality is only decent, and really suffers at any distance. There really isn’t much else to add about this device. Of course, you have SD card save capabilities, but having a device like this is about the instant photos, period. As it stands, I can only see this device serving as bit of a nostalgic break from the present. Maybe a purchase for a younger person; maybe certain small business applications – daycare, classrooms, etc. The ZINK technology, on the other hand, that may be worth exploring more. I think Canon should think about developing just the miniature printer with Bluetooth capabilities to cell phones. That piece is slick, and would be a handy utility and niche product that I think people would enjoy using.

I prefer my apple phone over this camera, low quality.

This camera does exactly what it's designed to. It's not here to take the most fabulous instant prints you've ever seen, nor does it have advanced features that allow you to capture a high resolution picture. However, what it does do, it does well. It's great for printing little photos of random memories, with a retro feel. The print quality is as expected for something like this. It's not going to have the best quality image, but it is going to capture a small memory, one photo at a time. The prints don't take super long to print, but you will have to wait for the picture to dispense before you start hitting another photo. The paper is easy to load, and I recommend grabbing a pack or two. I shot through the initial pack within a couple of hours walking around the park. You can select the orientation and the size of the photo (for extra writing space). The included adhesive, allows it to be put on a wall, or any appliance that allows a post-it to stay on. If you've ever had a Polaroid instant camera, this will bring back all those memories in a smaller package. Whatever you do, don't try to compare this to a high end camera, you'll be disappointed at the low res prints.

The Canon - IVY Cliq Instant Film Camera is a handy device for very specific applications. If you're looking for an all-around camera, look somewhere else. This is simply a modern application of the old Polaroid experience - take a picture and get a print. I also have one of the new Polaroids and, aside from the nostalgic form factor, I like this better - mainly because the print out of the photo is much quicker. There are some tweaks that could improve this - such as built-in memory with the option of whether or not to print a shot immediately (for when you know you moved or slipped and don't want to waste the photo paper). Otherwise, the primary use I can see is for social gatherings where you want to stick immediate pics up somewhere for people to see. Would be fun for a kids' birthday party, etc. We'll probably use it in a Sunday School class so new kids can have their name and picture on a board with others. Otherwise, I'll stick with my current smartphone for normal photography needs.

Point, shoot and get an instant printed picture. How much simpler can it be! On top of taking some pretty decent pictures one of my favorite features of this camera is that it is able to save a digital copy of the image. Another thing I like is that the film is pretty cheap and it has a sticker backing. This would make a great gift for any teenager.
