It's a Lot of Fun to Print on the Go!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Instant film cameras seem to be making a comeback, and for good reason. They are a ton of fun, and the Canon - Ivy Cliq 2 Instant Film Camera is no exception. I have recently tried out the other major competitor to the Canon Ivy Cliq 2 which is the newest Polaroid instant film camera. My review will focus on my experiences with these cameras, and the differences between the two. Things I like better about the Canon - Ivy Cliq 2: Smaller overall - It's much easier to take with you. Better, more crisp pictures. Sticker photo paper! Things I like better about the Poloroid: Larger photos An array of photo paper with different colored borders. Both of these instant film cameras are very straightforward, and easy to use. I give the edge to the Canon - Ivy Cliq 2 for a couple of important reasons. Because it is smaller it is much easier to bring with you anywhere you go. The quality of the photos is a little more crisp than the Polaroid. For these reasons I would go with the Canon - Ivy Cliq 2 if you are looking for a fun instant film camera for yourself or your family. Have fun!

A fun child's toy...
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Let me start off by saying that if you're a novice photographer or someone who is looking to take some high quality photos, this is not the camera for you. However, if you're looking for a novelty camera for some laid back fun, the Canon Ivy cliq 2 is a decent choice. This camera attempts to bring back two types of cameras that haven't been popular in a good long time; and those are the point and shoot cameras and "polaroid" instant cameras. I say that the camera is a novelty because of the type of camera that it uses, and it's a specific type of printer paper that has an adhesive on the back. The camera itself takes decent photos. This was clearly engineered with a younger target audience in mind. The camera takes good photos in the daytime, but is somewhat poor in low light settings. The photos are a bit grainy but not the worst. It comes with a rechargeable battery and charging USB cable, but other than that, nothing really stands out. It would have been nice if it had wifi so you could have the option to print out the photo on your own printer if you wanted to. The overall photo quality of the photos that the camera takes is comparable to cameras on smartphones of 2015. This could be a great way to get kids interested in photography, or a camera for them to use on a family vacation instead of their smartphone. There really is nothing that makes the Ivy Cliq 2 stand out or special. I think this is a product that is about 5 years too late to the party.

Not worth the money
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The worst “instant” camera. It’s slow and the prints look like you took them on a flip phone. It’s not a good camera but the ivy cliq printer is a much better product or even the okie version of this because you can print photos from your phone on cute little sticker back paper.

Not worth the purchase
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This camera is not worth the purchase. I bought this camera for my wedding for individuals to have fun with and it hardly worked. When it did work it took several minutes for the picture to print.

New concept old tech
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I think this is a perfect gift ideas. The biggest plus is that you can digitally save your photos and still get instant prints. It’s like a hybrid and something definitely different then we are used to. I wish it had a digital screen that you could also use it as a typical camera. I think that would be an added plus with the digital saving. The selfie mirror is around the camera lens which I thought was pretty nifty and allows you to aim at yourself accurately. There is a small flash but it’s only for close shots. I am person who like to take more scenic and landscape pictures and I would not recommend this camera for that. Bring it to a party or family function and have fun. Print the pictures and you can hand them out or stick them like a sticker anywhere. I would have given it 4 stars if it could print like a 4x6 but then the camera would be bigger.

Fun to use
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Canon - Ivy Cliq 2 Instant Film Camera Included- Canon Instant camera, quick start guide, 1 wrist strap, Micro USB charging cable, 1 pack of film This Canon Ivy Cliq 2 Instant Camera is perfect for a tween or teenager. This little, slim camera is light and fun to use for silly pictures, nothing too serious. The start up was is very easy. I full charged the camera with the included micro-USB cable. There is a LED status light. Red means it's charging and green means it's full. Then I easily loaded the film. But be careful because I mistakenly took a picture since it wasn't clear if there's first a throwaway to discard to start the pack- there wasn't. Hold down the power button to turn it on. There is a built in flash, viewfinder and shutter button. You just aim and click and it shoots out the picture. The picture is 2"x3" and has a sticky back so it can be a sticker. The camera allows you to add a thin white frame border to the picture or even do just black and white. Just press the button to select the filter or turn it off and the same for the border or not. There is also a selfie mirror on the front of the camera, so you can see your reflection and take your best selfie. There is some noise when the picture is printing. It was more than I expected it to be. We also have a Fujifilm Instax Mini so to compare them there are some differences. The Canon is smaller, lighter and slimmer. This camera is black and white, which I love but some may prefer more fun colors. The noise while printing is much louder on the Canon. There's way more choices of film with different borders for the Instax. It's more limited in picture looks with the Canon, but the but I like the sticker option on their film. I don't think I've seen that with the Fujifilm. Also, the picture quality is better on the Instax. The coloring seemed a bit off on the Canon pictures. The Instax does selfies, but there is no mirror on the front of the camera to help assist. I also like that the Canon Ivy Cliq2 has a MicroSD card slot, up to 256 GB, so there is an option to digitally save your pictures, which expands its usefulness. If you're looking for a great gift idea for someone who loves to take pictures and wants that instant physical picture, this is a great option. Because of its slim design, it will pack and travel well. It offers some fun picture options. I think it would be best suited for someone between the ages of 8-14, even though it can work for adults too. I just think they will have the most fun with it, given its capabilities.

Neat Camera for the Tweens
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a simple point an shoot camera. Its easy to setup. Take it out, charge it up and hand it off to your Tween. They will have fun. Is this a serious camera for in depth photography, no. Is this a better camera then what is on most cell phones, no. But for what it does, a camera for quick snaps that get printed at the moment this is the camera for you. You can even add a memory card to store the pictures. Otherwise this is simple to use. Three modes, B&W/Vivid and normal. You point, shoot and it prints. They did make the front around lens a mirror like surface which makes taking selfies easier for the kids. Overall my daughter loves it and the expense of more paper for photo's seem worth it as she is having a fun time with this. This is a definite improvement over the first one and something fun, plus its nice to get the picture there to share with people, once we can be around people again.

I Give It a 2.5 Stars
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Ummmm... I was not impressed. I get it. I know what this camera is supposed to be and do. And in this day and age, it is about the instant printing (because I don't see this as being about the novelty... honestly). But the truth is, I don't think anyone cares (I'm sure some people care). Ok. The camera is not too big not too small. It is a bit big, like a square. It would have been better as more like a rectangle with the height being the shorter length. And yes, I understand it needs room for the photo paper, but not that much room. The black color is nice. Also nice is the wrist holder (I don't know what you call it)... once you get it on... good luck. But the whole camera is weird to me. It has the old school USB port. Not USB-C. And I don't understand the meaning of this. Really? In 2020, and we are still using that old school port? With their super short cable (probably like 4 inches). And no power block to plug into an outlet. The buttons are minimal making this camera very easy to use. There is a power button, which you have to hold down to turn on and hold down to turn off (I don't know why you can't just push it in without holding it down). I find that a bit annoying. There is thick horizontal line that illuminates showing it is turning on. It takes a while. There is a shutter button. There is a button for "Black/white" and "vivid." There is a tiny tiny pin-sized illumination for each. One more push of that button eliminates the illumination, which means it is on regular picture (no filter). Then there is a button for "border" and "borderless." When outside, you cannot see the illumination light for filters or borders so you have to do that thing where you cover your cupped hand over it to see it any setting is illuminated or not. It is literally pin-sized. Annoying. I was able to see it indoors just fine though. Those are all the buttons. The viewfinder is weird. When I look through it, it feels like I am looking through a toy camera. The selfie side... has a huge circular mirror (which I find quite interesting... in a neat way) so that you can see yourself and whoever else is in the selfie. HOWEVER, taking the picture in selfie mode is cumbersome. It might be because the whole camera is a big square so the height is too tall when trying to hold the camera and push the shutter (which is on top) at the same time. I struggled. Quality: I like the black/white filter the best. I barely noticed a difference between regular and vivid, whether indoors or outdoors. Border and borderless are what they are so no further explanation is needed. When you push the shutter, this thing waits, and then makes this noise like it is really working... meanwhile the thick horizontal line on top illuminates, flashing amongst 2 or 3 different pretty colors. Then after waiting forever, the picture finally starts to come out. And then everyone is just waiting... waiting... waiting. Everyone was always laughing at me because we are used to instant (with phones) and this was just not. Different age groups were involved and we were all like, "oh boy... we have to wait... and still wait." I actually thought my little niece (age 5) and nephew (age 9) would be into it, but they just laughed too. They weren't into it. Didn't ask to play with it or snap a pic or anything. Also, the picture quality was below my expectations. It was MAYBE decent at most. Also, even slow movement will come out blurry. There is also a memory card slot. Luckily I had one to use. It just stores the pictures you took. You can't print from it through the camera or anything. But at least you have the digital form of the picture. This camera is extremely slow. BUT to be fair, I cannot compare it to other cameras like this (that print right away) because this is my first one. I have seen others being used but never paid attention to wait time. In the end, I would not recommend. Peace.

Good insta camera
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a very convenient and handy camera. It is easy to use and quick. Taking a selfie is not that easy as you can't see if you are in frame or not. The pictures themselves are on the small side. Charging the camera was quick. Loading the film was painless. This is a fun camera but not for serious photos.

Nostalgic fun
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a super fun camera to use and reminds me of high school all over again! We ended up using the camera to produce images for our passports and worked just fine with the right paper. I would highly recommend this for any photography enthusiasts who wants to see a modern take on some old tech!

Fun Instant Camera
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This instant print camera is lots of fun. Very easy to setup and start using. The camera is a lot of fun because you can take pictures and then instantly print them and stick them wherever you want. The nice thing about this camera is that you don't need to connect it to your phone to work. You can just load up the special photo paper and start taking pictures. There are a few simple options like using vivid (which makes it a little lighter and brighter) and adding a frame, which makes it look more like a vintage picture. However, if you do want to connect to your phone there is a Bluetooth connection that you can use to make some adjustments, as well as a memory card slot to store info right in the camera. I would point out that the pictures are pretty small and the quality is not nearly as good as a traditionally printed photo, but that is to be expected on a fun little camera like this. I should also point out that after about 20 pictures the photos started coming out as completely black. It appears that the camera was defective. Also, it was very difficult to contact Canon because the camera is so new that there were no voice prompts or search results on their 800 number or website to get support. Hopefully this gets updated soon. I was able to get a replacement camera.

Great camera and printer!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This camera is a nice size and takes decent looking pictures. Loading the camera is straightforward and the film comes with a sticky back that you can take off and stick to anything. I think that is a nice feature as we were taking photos and then sticking them to the refrigerator. This has all the standard features a simple point and shoot camera would. I grew up with the real polaroid and now my kids are loving this camera as they like the nostalgia. What is really great about this camera is inside the box is a QR code and it loads the app on your phone where you can also print photos from your phone which was a huge plus. The only con is the photos are only 2" by 3" but the plus is these come out and you can't smear them which everyone that used the old fashion polaroid you had to fan it to dry the photo. Great camera/printer with some nostalgia to it.

Very limited but fun camera
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Canon Ivy 2 is a decent toy that I'd only give to a kid to play with. You can print stickers from your captures and what child doesn't like stickers? The downsides are that it's not at all good for posterity. The camera can take photos and store them to SD but they're limited to 5MP. With that you can't print from storage. You can only print the shot you immediately taken. So if you want to reprint an image you're out of luck. You can't use any app to connect to the camera to use an external printer, nor can you use it as an external USB printer. You have one shot to get that perfect pic for your sticker. I think any child would have a wild time with the camera but anything more than basic use you're better off just leaving this one be. If you're going to take a photo to review later any phone will do a better job. Sad that you can't print those photos you already have.

Understandably limited for the price, still good.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. You’re not going to get professional results. What you will get is the instant satisfaction of a photo in hand that can immediately go on to whatever surface it will adhere to. The best I can describe this experience is this is the digitized version of a typical home photography experience from the late 90’s. It’s a tightly wrapped and well executed ball of nostalgia for those that grew up in that era. But with far better results that literally stick. Using the mirror on the front to get a selfie or even looking through the viewfinder to frame a picture is a complete analog experience. There is no timer. There is however a MicroSD slot for digital storage. So it’s not as if the photo you just took is a one off deal as it was with the first generation of instant cameras. Which, to me, is probably it’s best feature. It provides a way to still be able to enjoy a captured moment in time in both an immediately available tangible form and one that can be revisited in digital form across almost any device.

Very Fun Camera for Kids!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this camera for my neice and she loved it. It is simple to operate and easy to use. The quality of the pictures is standard for a point and shoot . The only downside is the printer is not the best quality but it is meant to be a fun printer for quick picks to stick anywhere not meant to be a high quality picture printer. It's amazing they even fit a printer in that small of a frame. It's a fun camera for travelling and for kids, other than that i don't see many sues for it but the price point makes it a nice gift that will provide a lot of fun for the young photo enthusiast. FUN and AFFORDABLE!
