Same model from 3 years ago takes better pictures

My wife and I bought this for a cruise we just went on thinking it would be better than the model we have from three years ago. All we have from our cruise is horrible pictures that are pixelated, blurry, and worse than my 5 megapixel phone pictures. I don't understand how anyone who takes pictures could give this camera a rating above poor. I expect more from Cannon products and will be returning this camera. My 3 year old powershot is smaller in size, has more manual settings, a longer battery life, and the quality of pictures is a hundred times better.

Great camera for beginners

It takes wonderful pictures and is easy to understand. The only bad thing is it has a short battery life. It died on me at a very bad time and i had to look for an outlet to charge it. I definitely recommend buying a back up battery. Otherwise its a great camera.

It takes good pictures and easy to remove and replace SD card and battery. Charger works easy and fast. Easy to place battery in charger. Have had several canon cameras and have had good service from them. Hope the same here also with this A4000 IS. Like the blue color.

Great camera, works perfectly out of the box

Needed one for a trip my wife and I were taking. In store pick-up was great and during breakfast (on the road) loaded and charged the battery at the restaurant we were eating at. Had an extra SD card which I inserted and the camera worked perfectly for the trip. Great pictures which I downloaded to my computer when I got home. Recommend it to all.

I had it for 5 years and it never gave me any problems, but I dropped it and it broke so I had to replace it. I liked my old camera so much that I decided to buy the same kind of camera again. It's a good little camera for the price, easy to use, and is a cool color!
