I just received my new camera and have taken a few photos and just one video. The photos remind me of what was once known as Laser Photos. The image is amazing. This is not my first Canon and my professional video experience has taught me to always be impressed with Canon. The one video I shot was indoors and showed poor quality with a lack of detail. This could easily be attributed to florescent lighting. I arrive in Yellowstone tomorrow which is why I bought this new camera. I have greater expectations for the video in the great outdoors. I am also looking forward to the still images. My old Canon 12 Mega pixel camera has been doing an awesome job but with this Yellowstone trip, I wanted the wide angle, more mega pixels, and the same ease of use I was familiar with.

This is a kids camera. Poor Quality!!!! I am returning this device to BB. Don't waste your time!

The little camera is a charmer. The picture quality is color perfect. Has a big LCD display. The response time of the controls and zoom are very snappy. It has 8x optical zoom and if you keep your finger on the zoom it continues after a slight warning pause onto digital zoom for 32x. Yeah, the pic will get a bit grainy at that level but you've got lots of pixels to work with. What I really like is the light weight and it fits into my shirt pocket. Or, get the Case Logic case and snug it into your pants pocket or a purse. It's so light, you will actually take this one with you and use it. The price is great for the quality and I love the blue color. Yes, the purist will say there are compromises with a super small camera like this but it's not a concern for the average person taking snapshots and the occasional movie. I've had larger Canons but I like this one the best because it's usable and has plenty of features. Macro photography (closeups) is automatic and really easy. Canon did a great job on this camera.

This is a wonderful camera for a non-technical person like myself. It is very easy to use, has many different photo options (incl. special effects). The features are many and all great (zoom, photo effects, lighting adjustments, auto mode, video capability, etc.). The picture quality is fantastic. I am still experimenting with it but so far have had no negative experiences and still finding out all it can do, so this review is a bit sparse. I highly recommend this camera.

This is a small, compact, easy to use camera that provides most of the features demanded in most common cameras at a price that defies logic. The LCD screen is pretty big, the camera is very small and the resulting photographs are just excellent. I carry it with me in my pocket almost every day. I love it.

This camera takes really nice pictures for its price, if anything it takes better pictures than my parents' 700 dollar camera. Easy to use functions make for easy adjustments for light, great video quality and sound. Highly recommend this camera to anyone who is looking for an affordable, easy to use, high quality camera.

This is a great, easy to use camera. My pictures came out great, nice and clear. The video is good also! It does take some time to reset after you take a picture and that is the only downside I have had so far! Otherwise, I really like it!

This camera is great! I had a Kodak before, one that I had for nearly 7 years a professional quality camera. This is nearly as good, just more compact. The picture quality is phenomenal. I love the way that if you turn the camera to view a picture, the picture turns too.. The focus and stabilization is fantastic! It's a great camera... The video was FAR more than I expected for a digital camera as you can zoom while filming... a lot of digital camera's you cant...

The only problem I had with setting it all up was that the CD that came with it took a long time to load all the registration information and then wouldn't let me register the camera. However, I emailed Canon from their "Contact Us" link on their site, they got back to me within an hour, and I registered it that way. This is my second Canon camera, my other is a Power Shot SX20. I wanted a smaller camera I could carry in my pocket. I just set up this A4000 and so far I like everything it does. I don't like the lithium battery but that goes along with the small size of the camera, so there's nothing to be done about that. Also, I got it on sale, buying myself a Christmas present. :) What more could I want?

I have owned four canon powershot cameras in the last 4 years, I know that sounds bad but it is not because the cameras are faulty. The first one I received as a gift. It was in the $100 range and it worked well. I purchased the warranty on it and my wife dropped the camera after about a year. That model was no longer available so we were given store credit in the amount of purchase price and added some more cash to buy a better camera. We did that a cople of times and ended up with an Olympus camera as our fourth camera. We were so underwhelmed with the Olympus that we bought the canon A4000. It is a great basic camera without very many bells and whistles. The different shooting options are limited but I still takes very crisp shots and smooth HD video. I'm sure we will upgrade again soon but we will definitely stick with canon..

I love this camera! It's a nice and easy transition from my old outdated canon. I was looking for a bigger SD card but my old canon only took a 2GB. I decided to go big and buy the new camera, with a 32GB Card. Its amazing! The picture quality is good and it holds so many photos! The only problem i have is that my old camera had some bumps in the upper right corner for your finger to grip. This camera does not. You've got to be careful not to drop it.

I bought this to take with me on a European vacation. I played with the settings and the 'vivid' setting takes the most amazing colorful pictures. The photos at Eiffel Tower, Tower Bridge, Stonehenge, Wimbledon, etc all look like they could be postcards! I'm still getting acclimated with it so my night pictures don't come out that great with the automatic setting. They can be a little grainy. The zoom is great as well

Wasn't sure if I would like the Preset Settings & found I did get some great photos of sunsets & flowers & ocean/beach. Turns out I did like the pics much better when I printed them over viewing on 3" screen or my PC. Have always loved Canon Powershots & again happily impressed with some changes, not all. Long wait time for flash to ready again but very happy with how many pics I got from rechargeable battery pack. This will be much better than carrying 2-sets of batteries to shoot during a week's worth of photos (usually 500-700) & only had to charge it once. The charger wasn't heavy or bulky like older versions had been. Zoom lens okay but not greatest, some blurriness when expanded to full length. This was only 1st time of using camera & look forward to playing with settings & seeing what else this camera can do!

This camera makes surprising good photos for an inexpensive camera. I haven't printed any photo, but they work well for Facebook, Instagram and to send in emails. The color is accurate. The shutter button can be quite sensitive, not allowing for the camera to focus before a photo is taken. Bottom line: this is not my first Cannon camera. After checking out cameras made by other companies, I find Canon cameras the most user friendly.

All I use is Canon camera's and I was due for a new so I did some research and reviewing and came across this camera. Its an overall great camera and takes really good HD video for being a point-n-shoot camara. The pictures that this camera takes are super clear and crisp.

This camera performs exactly as specified. Picture quality is clear and the IS capability increases the quantity of clear pix even when the camera is not held complete still. I especially love the blue color. Very slick and compact.

We bought this camera for our 15 year old daughter last month. It takes great photos! Colors are good, pictures are sharp. Does an especially good job on fireworks because there is a fireworks setting! We were shocked at how well those turned out.

I got this for my mom who is not great with technology. She loves it! It is easy to use and takes great pictures. The zoom is great and takes pretty clear pictures.

Needed a small camera and on a budget. Picked this unit because price was right. Still wanted something that would take good pictures for vacation and was not disappointed. Looked at a camera for $50 more and glad we didn't spend the extra money. I would recommend this camera.
