Easy to use - lightweight - takes good pictures - viewer screen on the camera is a good size - camera size is comfortable in your hand and secure while taking a picture.

It's compact, easily fits in a pocket and takes great pictures. I like the different picture taking modes - super bright is excellent for taking landscape pictures!

Nice easy to use camera. Took it on vacation to San Antonio Texas. We took pictures of the Alamo, the River Walk, and many more sights. It didn't matter what the lighting was like, the camera sensed the condition and it took very nice pictures.

For a beginner camera, this has a lot of really nice features and is pretty easy to use. Spend a good half hour learning it and you're good to go!

I didn't like that you had to take the battery out to charge it and no memory card, extra cost.

The camera take good pictures. Often, though, the "record (video ) button gets clicked unintentionally as it is so close to other 'take picture " button. Its small size is a good feature but the tight locations of the buttons is a trade-off

I am a residential real estate appraiser, so on every assignment I take between 20-50 pictures per property, sometimes inspecting 1 to 5 properties per day, so I need a durable camera to hold up and last. I have had this for about a month and has worked great. Battery life is great, takes great pics, and takes fast pics too. The "reset" time between photos is very quick which saves me time in the field. The only con I have is that sometimes when there is a bright light or window in a room, it does not fire the flash, so the photo ends up very dark, and I have to point the camera somewhere brighter to activate the flash, then quickly point it into the room and take the pic so the flash fires. My last camera had a setting for flash always on. Almost forgot, took the camera to the blue hole in Jamaica, and the tour guide took it and shot tons of photos of us, turned out great. Even through the jungle and water!

This is a beautiful blue color. Purchased as a gift for my husband to use on the job. He is a Law Enforcement Officer.

This is my third Canon digital camera and so far the 170 is the best!. The good just keep getting better. Thanx Canon.
