Awful. One star is too many for this camera.

I bought the camera in Sept 2018 and took it to Vietnam in Oct 2018. 10 days into an 18 day vacation the camera no longer worked. Took it to Best Buy and was told water damage. Vietnam is humid and this can be the only reason because the camera was not in liquid, not in rain, not had liquid on it. There were over 20 others on the trip and their camera's all worked. They used basic cameras (not Cannon), not basic cameras, phone cameras and ipads and all these worked for the entire trip. Only the Cannon ELPH 180 failed. I will not buy another Cannon product.

Seeing as Canon has made great cameras throughout the years, such as the AE1 35mm, I thought this'd be a decent camera, even at the lower entry price. Oh, how wrong I was. I bought this, tested it, and that was it --- I brought it back and bought the Panasonic - LUMIX ZS100k instead. My old Kodak Easyshare Z760 from 2005 takes better pictures than this, but that is getting old & unreliable, so I need a replacement. This, however, pixelates badly, even in a well lit room. In a dark room? Even worse -- a dotted mess. On top of that, the reds & oranges were over-saturated to the point of appearing florescent. I was very surprised how bad the pictures looked, even of a close up of my coffee mug in a well lit room. Even though this is cheap, save your ca$h by buying something else instead.

This camera replaced what was basically the same model Canon that had scratches on the lense. Figured it would work as well. Steps to P modes are lengthy and not conducive to rapid shooting. I'd return it but it's too late. I suppose if all you want to do is shoot Auto everything it would be ok. Would recommend a model with more robust functionality.

THE CAMERA SHAKE IS HORRIBLE ON THIS CAMERA. I'VE RESEARCHED ONLINE AND FIDDLED WITH THE SETTINGS TO SEE IF I COULD FIX THE PROBLEM. NO LUCK. IT'S VERY FRUSTRATING. I AM AN AMATURE PHOTOGRAPHER, BUT IT SHOULDN'T BE SO HARD TO FIGURE OUT HOW TO TAKE A DECENT PHOTO. I AM GOING TO TRY TO RETURN IT.

We had a Sony in the same class and it broke after 5 years. I wanted to get a Sony, but they were out, so I got this one. It's for the price, I think Sony is much better. The display is not that clear. Any ways, thanks for reading.
