    Great camera! Compact!

I love my Canon camera. I have an Olympus camera with multiple size lenses but sometimes it is just not small enough to take with me. I bought this camera for a trip to DC and I got some great pictures. So happy I bought it.

    Lens Unreliable

I've owned three of the Elphs and the last two have had lens failures! The first 2 megapixel camera worked great and I loved it. That's why I upgraded the pixel count. The new versions seem to have some sort of problem with the lens moving in and out. I thought it was me when I replaced camera #2 with #3, but am now convinced it's a manufacturer's issue. I'll replace mine with a competitor shortly.

BIG step down in quality from 310 series

This is the first review I've ever written for anything --I am motivated to share with everyone how disappointing this camera is. I had years of excellent pictures with the elph310hs and this 340hs was billed as an updated model--so I assumed it would be at least of the same quality if not better. Definitely not. Washed out grainy pictures, slower processor and cheap plastic outer shell compared to our 3+ year old 310 hs. I will be immediately returning it to best buy and will think twice about canon cameras in the future now. I suspect the many positive reviews are from people who have nothing to compare it to.

Purchased to upgrade from the ELPH 310. Lens jammed in first week of use. Canon won't repair saying there is impact damage! Extremely upset! Camera is a piece of junk!

As stated above. Absolutely horrible picture quality. Very grainy no matter what setting or function it is set to..just returned it for the $79 elph 115c.10x better .No grainy pixelated pictures like this model. Sometimes you look at 1 review and say ,well, that's just one. but save your money, Don't buy this high priced junk!. Get the cheaper model that's so much better.Canon really dropped the ball on these newer so called better model upgrade point and shoots.

There is nothing hd about this camera. My iPod touch takes better pictures.
