I've been blown away at just how much a small camera such as this one can do. Everything from focusing in on small details to allowing just the right amount of light in no matter what the conditions are. If you're looking for a higher end pocket camera that doesn't break the bank, this is the one for you.

Overall, this camera takes excellent images, although it seems a little less consistent with its output than my last enthusiast pocket cameras (RX100, XZ-2). Wide open, images can be soft around the edges until stopped down (more so than the RX100, and much more so than the XZ-2 which was sharp across the frame wide open), but the colors are true to life and once the lens is stopped down, image sharpness improves around the edges. The touchscreen is a nice addition for an enthusiast camera. For those that like to shoot raw + jpeg, the camera limits which 'creative' options you can apply when in that mode, but in general, I have not found this to be a major issue. Focus tracking is pretty good, and you can get some decent subject isolation due to the fast lens, and relatively large sensor in this camera. If you are looking for a hot-shoe or viewfinder, this is not your camera. It's too large for a snug fitting jeans pocket, but it will fit nicely in a looser pant or small jacket pocket. Overall, it's an excellent camera, offers full control for manual shooting (except flash sync adjustment), and is a great camera to have when a DSLR or u4/3 camera is too intrusive. I'd probably give this 4.5 stars if I could, but as it's not an option I'm giving it five.

Using for online video work - It's working very well indeed. Great clarity, good sound (would like capacity for external mic which it does not have.) Instructions are helpful and there is plenty of online information on novel uses and about all the whistles and bells!

We had no idea which camera to purchase and the lady sales person was so informative and helpful and pointed us to this and a couple others. We cannot be happier w/this camera. Best Buy sales people are so helpful; much better than some of the other places.

I love the simplicity of the camera. Editing was a breeze as well.

I bought this camera 3 years later and I still use it often. Will last a long time if you take good care of it. My advise would be to also buy an extra battery for backup when you are out and plan on recording a lot.

I currently own a DSLR (Nikon D7200) for photography purposes. But I purchased this because I started making YouTube videos. I needed something portable and sharp, that also had the flip out screen. Gotta admit that it's a pricey point-and-shoot. But for videos, it's an excellent equipment and worth every dime! If you can afford it, go for it.

Best feature of this camera is that it takes great pictures in low light. It's the perfect point and shoot for family pictures.

Best Buy is the place to go if you need expert advice on camera gear. Couldn't be more happier with my purchase of the G7X!

I use this camera mainly to record my daughter. The focus can be a little weak at times but other that I don't have mang complaints
