Amazing camera! Very easy to use and the quality is unmatched from other cameras I own. I recommend this to everyone looking for a camera that is reliable and has exceptional quality.

I love this camera! I had been waiting for this camera to come out as it's previous version (the Mark II) was widely advocated for.
I'm no professional photographer/videographer, so I was looking for something that was easy to use and produced captured high quality images/videos, which this camera fulfilled.
I used this camera to document a two week long trip overseas. The battery lasted for about half a day. I bought an additional battery I kept charged to replace halfway through the day and that worked perfectly for me.
My one issue is that this camera is rather slow at focusing if you move or zoom while filming. You might end up with clips that show that second of blurriness as the camera adjusts the focus as you zoom/move.

My knowledge of cameras and photography boils down to can I trust my cellphone to capture my subject quickly, accurately and look good enough on Auto settings to share. But since I received the Canon PowerShot G7 Mark III, I've been trying to branch out and fiddle with White Balance, ISO, Focal Length, RAW and the likes that comes with working with a real camera. I've learned a little bit to get better shots but Auto mode works just fine for me.
Overall, I definitely see the benefits of owning and using a Real camera but just whipping out my phone and snapping my subject such as my cats is just so much easier.
Back to the camera. It's packed full of features that make it a compelling option for a beginner like myself. Has WiFi, and Bluetooth to connect to my phone, laptop or email to get my images to things I use everyday from the app. The charging/transfer over USB-C is a great touch for future proofing. The flippable view finder is great for vlogging if you're into that. 16x zoom helps you get in
On the downside, the camera has issues with my SD card saying it can't be found or requiring a reformat only to end up working again through a power cycle.
In the end, I do enjoy using the Canon, when I remember I have it around and wish to use it. A great beginner option in features and price until you can get into DSLR and Mirrorless options.

Why I bought the Canon G7x mark iii was because I was tired of upgrading my phone just because of having the latest smartphone camera with still the same sensor size. The Mark iii has been the best camera that I have owned. I like the camera for the ease of use and picture quality. When using this camera, its like using a smartphone camera due to the touchscreen. In previous touchscreen cameras I have used, like Sony; the touchscreen would only allow you to pick your focus point or sometimes pinch and zoom when it came to reviewing your photos. The TouchScreen on the Canon allows you to cycle through menu settings using just the touchscreen. You can pinch and zoom picture previews, select apurture, iSo, shutter speed and etc. The Camera has been fast enough to capture my son playing T-Ball, and my newborn son taking a bath. For my needs this is a great point and shoot, its pocketable, battery lasts long enough and is just a joy to use.
Rule of thumb....
Like with anything else, just dont make the device into what its not suppose to be ;)

I've had this camera for about a year and I really like the portability and image quality of portraits (especially with flash). However zoom range is limited and I've had issues with it glitching and lagging after about 6-8 shots.

I got this camera for ease of use, size, and high-quality pictures. it's the second one i've owned and love having it available to me. Quality of pictures compare favorably with the best phone cameras.

Given how highly rated this item was by vloggers, I'm a bit disappointed. There does not seem to be an override for the automatic shut off so the only way to use this camera as a source for multi-camera streaming through a third party app/feed is to connect it to an external device. Doing this causes the camera to overheat, which is not good for any stream longer than 20-30 minutes.
Furthermore, Canon has discontinued the portal that nearly every video tells you to use to control and connect their cameras to other devices AND shut down almost all of their customer service--their website suggests you can call a special number for each model and then when they call, it tells you that phone CS for the model is no longer available so you should just go to the website and cull through hours of videos to solve your own problem. Not sure about you, but usually if i reach the point where I'm calling customer service, I've likely exhausted all options online and need to talk to a human.
I'm still giving three stars because the quality of videos and photos I've taken offline is next level and the feature that beams the assets straight to your external device with an option for EITHER bluetooth or WiFi is ace. However, I don't love that it requires to you install yet another app on your tablet or phone.
Overall, it's good. But I think from a user perspective, they can do better. For the money, I wish I'd gone with the EOS instead of the Powershot.

I am very impressed by this camera. The camera is small and easy to carry, but it takes amazing photos with great detail and color. The 4K video recording is excellent for capturing high-quality videos.
I also liked the flip-up touchscreen, which makes it easy to frame shots and adjust settings. The autofocus works well and quickly, making sure you don't miss important moments. For those into vlogging or streaming, the microphone input is very useful.
Overall, the Canon G7X Mark III is a great camera for both photography and video. It’s reliable, easy to use, and produces excellent results. Highly recommended!
